    Enjoyed a (work) team dinner at The North Coal on a Thursday night. There were 8 of us and they gave us a table at the back (not quite a private room), but distanced from the bar - this was appreciated. Live music made it a little loud for conversation, but the artist and music genre aligned created a relaxed vibe for the venue. Reagan was our server - friendly, helpful and accommodating to our group. The food portions were generous. Everyone enjoyed their choices. We had three January birthdays and she asked the artist to sing Happy Birthday. Then visited our table with three brownie sundaes (and candle). As a first time guest of this restaurant, it was a delightful experience. And would come back again. Some additional notes: its location makes for easy parking choices. Booking a table was easy through OpenTable. Happy Hour specials (between 5pm and 6pm) was an unexpected and pleasant bonus. Service was top-notch.

    I picked a good night as they had live music Simple Cell made it difficult to have a conversation as I was singing to every song 😉 such a good band. But seriously, the food was good and the ambience made for a very cozy evening Glad I braved the cold

    My first time - live music was amazing. Made the ambience feel super chill. It was a bit too loud if your purpose was to hang out with friends and talk. But the music was excellent. Drinks were great - smoke maple old fashioned - presentation and taste were next level. I had the blackened maple miso cod - new to the menu. Won’t be ordering that again - way too fishy for my palate. Overall- love the place. Will be back for more music and bourbon.

    The food was good and the service was excellent. Because it was our book club meeting of 11 women we found the live music too loud. We did have a good time. Next time we will come earlier,

    food was amazing. Found the Brussel sprouts a bit overdone, burnt. but overall, food was delicious. Smoked duck tacos were outstanding and you must try.
