We arrived but our booking wasnt there. Luckily they were able to accomodate us. Food was good, it was a limited choice as it was a Sunday carvery but what food we did have was good.
We didnt have desserts but they looked very good.
Its on the site of a retirement home so it seemed that there were quite a lot of residents eating
there. No problem for us but young children may not feel to welcomed?
Bit pricey but staff were attentive.
Overall good but let down by the booking procedure as something was missed.

We booked this restaurant on our way back from York to London. The description on Open Table and the link to the restaurant did not mention that it is part of a luxury retirement home. We were surprised to find out when we got there. The food was good and the residents very friendly. We had a very nice lunch.

We had a set menu for Valentines day @£45pp. Food was fantastic maybe a bit expensive. Restaurant is open to General public, but is part of a retirement village. But apart from that we would go again.

Such a shame that we didn’t know this beautiful place was part of a retired/old folks home. We were the youngest there by about 30 years. There was no atmosphere as we were nearly the only people eating there apart from a few couples outside. Really not what we were expecting. A disappointing evening. The food was nice but nothing special considering the cost. But at least we have had a funny story to tell our friends. Stunning location and interior, But hardly anyone about to enjoy it. 😔
