Experience the new Great Scotland Yard Signature Afternoon Tea at The Parlour. Inspired by the building's iconic history as first head quarter of the British Police, each dish is a journey through its infamous tales, with rare ingredients and creative twists. The iconic Ink Pot Cake is a toast to all the great writers who passed through the building, like Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens, and Arthur Conan Doyle, who drew inspiration from its stories for his Sherlock Holmes tales.

I loved the savory sandwiches and scones but sweets were just so so. Tables are to close to each other makes it awkward if you wanna start a conversation with your partner during the afternoon tea.

Live music at Christmas tea in a narrow room with a mic and speaker. Impossible to have a conversation. He was talented. I felt sorry for him. Wayyyy too loud. We left miserable. Savories were unimaginative and meager. Overpriced. Chaos

Very expensive for what it is. Service charge is higher than a lot of other similar places. We had a large group. £65 per head not including water and service at 13.5 percent was quite expensive for 4 small sandwiches each (and no refills offered) would not choose to have tea here again.

Great location and ambiance. The tea sandwiches didn’t have much flavor and the sweet offerings were cumbersome and not very tasty. The servers were kind.

I was incredibly disappointed with the festive tea. The sandwiches and savouries were bland and boring, and the portions were tiny. The cakes were slightly better but the scones were inedible. They were dry and stale. And with a bill of over £200 for two people, a total rip off. Do not recommend at all.

We felt that there could have been more savoury items - only three finger sandwiches and no refills offered is much less than we’ve had at other afternoon teas

Together with my friend we went to the Parlour for a Festive Afternoon tea. We had the £75 Prosecco set. The food was good enough, 4 small sandwiches each plus four cakes. The cakes were all together a bit too intense and sweet, but I am sure that it would satisfy more of a sweet tooth. The disappointment came later when the table next to us ordered extra sandwiches. We asked our waitress for it who said because we had cakes we would have to pay extra for any extra order of sandwiches. None of the process was explained to us at the beginning, the menu is also silent about this. We also weren’t asked whether we wanted tea refill, and all together the service was quite poor. We ended up paying an automatically added (non-discretionary) service charge of 13.5%. After giving us the bill the waitresses ignored us for the rest of the time and forgot to give us the coats (which they didn’t seems to remember even taking from us). All together £88 (including water and service charge) seem pretty steep for one tea, 4 tiny, just okay tasting sandwiches, overly sweet cakes, and nonchalant staff, spoiling the nice evening we would otherwise have.

Enjoyed the surroundings but service was disappointing, left us to pile coats on a chair. We ordered one vegetarian and one normal afternoon tea, but I ended up with more vegetarian items. Unable to resolve because it was difficult to understand what the waitress was saying, we gave up. Savoury items very odd, cakes and jam delicious, rest mediocre. Quiet ambience much appreciated.
