The Peacock, Austin Proper’s ground floor Mediterranean restaurant and lobby bar serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menus are inspired by the colorful culinary styles of Israeli and Turkish fare and include spit-roasted meats and vegetables grilled over the restaurant's wood-burning oven, flavorful tagines and hearty mezze platters and dips ideal for sharing. The sprawling bar provides a full dining experience throughout the lobby and outdoor lounge. Overlooking views of Shoal Creek can be taken in from the Peacock’s patio space and the private dining room balcony.

Had a delightful dinner at Peacock with my husband. All of the wonderful appetizers were much appreciated and truly incredible. We could not pick a favorite but definitely lean toward the flavor forward dumplings. The shrimp kebab was perfectly grilled - smoky on the outside, tender inside, and served over fragrant rice that soaked up all the Mediterranean spices. My husband's lamb chops were cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a beautiful crust and generous portion size. We enjoyed meeting Natascha and had a nice chat with our server Luigi from Italy . Service was attentive without being overbearing, . The modern yet warm atmosphere made for a lovely date night. We were never fans of restaurants within a hotel but this is certainly an exception. Everything was perfect.

Our server was excellent, and the food was fine, but at these prices it's not worth it. The Gulf Snapper Crudo was very good. And the Moroccan Curry was deliciously spiced and flavored, but somewhat small. However the Harissa Marinated Beef Tenderloin was a big disappointment - a poor cut of beef, not very tender, and a bit mealy. There are much better restaurants in Austin with more reasonable prices. Skip this one.

Everything within the restaurant is impeccable however valet parking is $30 minus just a $5 discount for Peacock’s diners.

A fun NYE day celebration after massages at the spa. Everything was delicious and the service and atmosphere were great.
