Situated in the bustling heart of Dupont Circle is The Pembroke, a sophisticated dining destination. Featuring contemporary American fare with global influences, The Washington Post’s food critic Tom Sietsema described the experience as “cut from a different cloth." The Pembroke’s stunning design by Martin Brudnizki features plush velvet coral-toned banquettes around glossy marble tables, cream-paneled walls with playful artwork, and boasts panoramic views of the neighborhood, while a seasonal terrace offers al fresco dining from spring to fall. The marble-topped bar is a bright and airy nod to cocktail bars of the 1950s and features classic drinks with a twist and a selection of fine wines. Reserve your table today to see how “The Pembroke makes Dupont Circle a destination again.”

Our table was next to the bar which is not usually my favorite spot for dinner, however this was a perfect spot as our server was the bar tender. Dashawn was our bar tender and server and he made the night fun and special. Food was delicious, we all had a different pasta dish. Drinks were excellent. Dashawn even made an original rum drink that we all loved. Could not have asked for a better experience.

It’s great to know that the bar setting worked out for you, and we’re glad Dashawn’s personal touch added to your evening. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Warm regards, Pembroke team

Went there for our daughter's birthday. Ambience is very elegant, food was mediocre, most food was burned or overcooked. We asked for a birthday mini cake and all we got were 3 beignes. Nobody even bothered to wish our daughter Happy Birthday. After this mini cake, they swiftly brought us the check, without asking if we would like to see the dessert menu or if we cared for coffee or anything else. They added around 20% service charge to the bill. For this reason we decided not to leave any tip. Overall, this restaurant offers a nice ambiance, mediocre food, inattentive service and is definitely overpriced. Not recommended

Dear Francesco, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your daughter's birthday celebration did not meet expectations. We strive to create memorable experiences, and it's disappointing to learn that we fell short in several areas during your visit. We appreciate your comments about the ambiance, and we will take your feedback seriously to ensure improvements in both food quality and service. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance to make things right. Warm regards, Pembroke team

I had high hopes for a good meal at the Pembroke. Servers were nice enough but did not go into any detail at all on the menu which I would expect for this highly rated restaurant. Overall, food was just okay, not memorable. I had the branzino and had a very rough first bite with a ton of fish bones in it - almost choked. I mentioned this to the waiter when he came by towards the end of the meal and he made no apology or recovery attempt, just said " that fish is known to have a lot of bones in it, some have more than others". Even if I lived in DC I would not go back to this restaurant.

Great meal! We only had a short time for dinner as we were headed to a concert. The staff was extremely attentive, served courses at a perfect pace so we were timely but didn’t feel rushed. Food was delicious and plentiful. And it is SO nice to eat in a restaurant where you don’t have to shout to be heard. We carried on our conversation at normal speaking levels and didn’t hear from those at tables near us. Convenient location and definitely will be back.

Dear Deanna, Thank you for sharing such a positive review! We’re delighted to hear that we could provide a great meal and experience, especially with your time constraints. We booked a table for two on open table. We hung out at the bar, but decided to eat elsewhere after not being offered a table after 45 minutes.

Last time we dined was two years ago. This time new chef; same ambiance. Wine selection very good; service very good and attentive. The Levain Bread they serve is outstanding if you love flavorful, crusty bread. You could make a meal on it. Served with a crock of butter of perfect temperature. The racdicchio salad was crisp and interesting; they provided a spilt portion without issue . The side dish of crispy potatoes was well done with right touch of sea salt. The entrees were limited with no specials. The pasta dishes were also limited but you could add protein such as shrimp or chicken. The service did not rush you.
    The PembrokeResponded 5 days ago
Dear Judith, Thank you for joining us again after two years! We're thrilled you enjoyed our ambiance, attentive service, and delightful offerings like the Levain Bread and radicchio salad. It’s wonderful to hear that the wine selection and thoughtful service contributed to your experience. We appreciate your feedback regarding the entrée and pasta options, and we'll share this with our team as we continually strive to enhance our menu. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for another memorable dining experience. Warm regards, Pembroke team
