The food (crabcake, oysters, mussels) was excellent, as was the ambiance being on the waterfront. Two complaints: 1. The main course arrived right after the appetizers. Evidently they don't understand about timing of a meal. 2. They sneaked a 5% "operating fee" onto the bill. This trend of sneaking surcharges onto diners is not unique to Point, but we diners need to push back. The excuse given is that these charges are a response to a recent DC initiative that changed how tips are allocated, but come on, restaurants, the tips should go to the staff, and you should deal with that and be honest about your pricing.

We’ve been to the Point four to five times now and make it a place for brunch whenever we’re in DC. We stopped by after homecoming this weekend and once again we were happy with the choice. My wife had the red snapper which was excellent I had the crabcake. We started with some oysters for the appetizers and appreciated the servers suggestion on having a Chardonnay with the oysters versus a cocktail. Speaking of service, once again we had a great server. If you want to keep coming back, this has been consistent with our experience and appreciate the managers stopping by to check on our experience. There is a lot of congestion from building downtime so take the first parking you can find, other than that we really great experience. Highly recommend and we’ll be back.

I've been a few times and have always enjoyed myself. Ambience is amazing. This time around I had the salmon which pretty much melted in my mouth. And because I had just had dental work I asked for the veggies to be cooked really soft which they PERFECTED. That in itself would have earned it a 5 star review. However the service was a bit slow and we were literally sat all the way in the back corner of the restaurant which I didn't particularly like. Other tabled appeared to be open, but perhaps there was no server in those areas. Initially the restaurant was a bit frigid due to them having the bar area completely open to the outside on a very cool night. I warmed up a bit after the drinks and food. Try the Point Punch. It's superb! One of my favorite spots in DC.

The food was good, but the service and the waterfront view are what made our night! My husband loved the oysters (4 different varieties) and we all loved the warm crab doughnuts. It was a long walk from the Metro and seemed VERY out of the way, but the owner/manager went above and beyond and had his staff take us by golf cart back to the Metro so we (2 adults and a 9-year-old) wouldn't have to walk the mile back. This is going to be a very cool area as the development keeps going!
