   Our first visit. We had a reservation for 11:30. We arrived 6 minutes late, but were greeted with a big smile and seated right away. We had a pleasant surprise with customized menus to celebrate our friend’s birthday. We had a kind waiter who gave a little history of the restaurant and menu. The birthday girl had another commitment at 1pm, so we ordered right away and started chatting to catch up with one another. We were talking so much, we hadn’t realized how much time had passed. It was literally 12:37 when we had to ask our waiter about our food. He apologized for the delay and said our food would be up next. Our food came out at 12:46 and it was cold. There were only 3 of us. I ate my food, eggs, potatoes and biscuit. Although a little cold, I ate it all and it was good, especially my biscuit and house made jam. The other 2 had their food heated up and they enjoyed it. Overall it was a good experience and I am looking forward to returning to try some of the many other options.

   Food was overall very good, but some of it was "cold"; and we believe that is because it was Thanksgiving Day and extremely busy.

   We were sat, our order taken, but it took over an hour to get our meals. We were a party of two. We saw within our area at least three other tables sat AFTER us including a table of 4 AND they got their meals within a matter of minutes (15-20 minutes). We had to ask twice before our food finally arrived. What did we order? The special of the day on Thanksgiving. You’d think those items are more cafeteria style service of having items ready and serving it up. But over an hour?

   The food was excellent with one big exception. The fried chicken was as dry as a bone. It seemed to have been cooked way in advance and then reheated. Whatever happened to it, it was close to inedible. I’ve enjoyed fried chicken here many times in the past and it was juicy with a nice crust. Today’s was as far from that as it could be. Neither of my guests ate the grilled corn. It too was very dry and the kernels were shriveled. Too long on the grill, perhaps. Corn bread, biscuits, beignets, meatloaf, mash, collard greens, turkey all excellent. Wish I’d ordered something other than the fried chicken. For fried chicken, I’ll go back to Creole Soul.

   We went with a group of 5 for a 40th birthday brunch. Our service was soooooooo sloooooow. We were there for 2 hours and only had 2 drinks. Every single step took forever and took away from the experience. We even had to track down our server who was standing at the food pickup window chatting about football. Then the system was down and it took 25 minutes to pay our bill. The food was great but it was louder than I expected when I booked the place. I only gave 3 stars because the food was good.

   Came here for my birthday dinner, looking forward to some great New Orleans cuisine. It was sad to see the restaurant so empty on a Saturday night. Hardly anyone in the place at 7:15pm. Service was average. Was looking forward to the Gumbo all week, but of course it was the one thing on the menu that they were out of. Went for the catfish jambalaya. Fish was good, has 2 shrimp in entire plate and the rice was hard, didn’t seemed cooked all the way. The Mac and cheese was great. Mentioned to server that I was wanting to get the beignet for my birthday dessert. When time came they told me that the oven was turned off and they weren’t making them anymore. Overall I was looking so forward to having my birthday dinner at the porch, knowing their menu. Was totally disappointed with the atmosphere and not having the dishes I had looked forward to. Especially the beignets for my birthday dessert. Don’t plan to come back anytime soon.

   The service was prompt and our server was excellent. The drinks were delicious. The menu is so unique and we really enjoyed it. We will definitely return.
