   Five months after a park-wide evacuation and devastating wildland fire tragically impacted the townsite of Jasper, the doors to The Raven Bistro re-opened. The restaurant was packed last night with delighted, enthusiastic diners. If there were any chaotic moments or glitches behind the scenes, after being closed for five months, our party never noticed a thing. Our welcome reception, meals, beverages and service were all absolutely perfect. As our community endeavours to recover from our tragedy, Jasper locals and those who love to visit our home are celebrating every 'win' and having our businesses re-open are all wins. We are also celebrating anything feeling of normalcy, and a lovely, delicious dining experience at The Raven has always been a given. Life felt normal last night - what a joyous feeling! Thank-you to owners Ashley and Mike Kliewer and their incredibly devoted and talented crew for the countless hours put in to bring one of Jasper's most popular restaurants back to us.

   This was as good as we remembered. So thankful that the Raven is open again. Great service, food and friendships made for a great evening out!

   Our journey took us from Vancouver to jasper, and this restaurant was one of the best. A great bartender, a family run kitchen and creative dishes prepared with genuinely fresh and high quality ingredients. No wonder reservations are a challenge to secure - The Raven Bistro is just that good!

   Our waiter was really great, enthusiastic, attentive and informative. Excellent service. The pickled grapes were great accompanying the brie but would be better with a plain bread accompaniment rather than garlic bread which takes away from the other flavours. My husband really didn't enjoy the falafels as no texture to them and needed more spicing. The lentil nourish bowl and lentil quinoa croquettes were really tasty and had plenty of flavour. Very accommodating with allergies. I was very excited about the prospect of the limoncello tiramisu being a huge fan of both especially as it was gluten free but it was really disappointing, very thick and heavy and needed a lot more limoncello to soak the ladyfingers. It should be much lighter so maybe adding whipping cream to the mascarpone to stop it setting so much and a sprinkling of dark chocolate to contrast with the lemon.

   Too much sauce on the entrees to mask the flavors of the seafood and meats. Maybe that is what others prefer, but an overall disappointment for such a highly rated restaurant in Jasper.

    We had made reservation’s to sit outside not knowing what the weather would be like. It has been a really hot day. Luckily their outdoor patio is in the shade at dinner time. Sarah our waitress introduced herself. She was awesome. Very attentive, gave great recommendations and really personable. Food was great. Everything we had we devoured. We will be back.
