   Generally superb BUT I respectfully suggest that when offering Focaccia the more familiar thin pizza style is offered in addition to the “cake” as supplied

   I had read reviews about the time taken to get food ... we arrived 15mins early and despite lots of available tables they told us we couldn't order food until our table slot as the kitchen had a back log. Not a great start. We ordered drinks... 15mins after our table slot I had to ask a waiter to take our order (30mins now after we arrived). Our starters took 1 hour to arrive! I ordered bruschetta and I've never in my life been served a pale white bit of toast with salad tomatoes cut in 4 laid on top... despite our starters taken so long as soon as our dishes were taken away our mains arrived. Two of us had the chicken and haggis yet randomly there was no haggis! Such a shame as the setting is nice and the presentation of the food was nice but just not hitting the mark.

   Good customer service. Friendly, helpful waiting staff. Food was good apart from the fettuccine carbonara. We sat in the section of the restaurant between the bar and window. Acoustics were terrible. Really hard to hear each other speak. Pity.

We would have obvcourse sought to get you another meal at the time. if you choose to dine with us again we can always turn the music down to suit your needs.    The past two meals we have had did not come up to standard . Soggy batter & over cooked fish previous visits very good , a shame that standards have dipped .

   I have been there a few times now. The food is good. Drinks are fine. But the service can be hit and miss. Food and drink orders are taken quickly. And food comes out fast. But the staff took so long to come back that we chose to go somewhere else for dessert.

   As I said to the chap doing the seating and service I measured this against the standard of The Jam Jar and when it was Nairns and these were very good and I’m afraid there is a lot of work to be done to match these establishments. I felt the staff were frustrated and the young waitress had to keep apologising for the slowness of service which is never good as there weren’t many tables taken - I remember the Jam Jar being full and service was always excellent. We asked for water twice and it never arrived. I will say the venison was ok We were given a discount on the bill which goes someway to recompense but I’m not sure we’d come back too quickly

   Excellent from start to finish! Can’t fault the food in any way. Great service and a nice relaxing Tuesday evening with the gentle background music. Staff very friendly and chatty. A must visit.
