Welcome to the Red Lion, a 16th-century country pub in the picturesque village of Charing Heath, between Maidstone and Ashford. Family friendly, with an invitation extended to well-behaved dogs, it’s a relaxed and homely place to savour exceptional ales, wines and spirits, plus a delicious menu of home-cooked country style food. Built in 1562, the pub exudes character and charm with authentic oak-beamed ceilings and wooden paneling - but it’s not the only historic building around these parts.

We went for Sunday lunch and chose the crispy pork belly, it was the best Sunday lunch ever! Highly recommended.

Brilliant food and service! Couldn’t fault them at all! Accommodated to our requests! Highly recommend the fish and chips! Chips were sooo good! And save room for puddings! We had a mixture and they were all so good!!! Will definitely be back!
