Built in 1710, this was once the waterfront home of Robert Morris who gained fame as the Financier of the Revolution. The oldest operating Inn & Tavern on the Eastern Shore and now the most unique historic restaurant with rooms under Master Chef and Partner, Mark Salter. His menus draw inspiration from blending his unique cooking style of British with American sensibilities and features the Chesapeake great natural larder.

Our Tred Avon Room is a waterfront historic room suitable for between 6 and 16 persons. This is one of the original 1710 parlor rooms.Our formal Dining Room is perfect for weddings, receptions and formal dining. This room can seat up to 68 persons.

As always, the atmosphere and the food were outstanding. We love the restaurant, the history of the Inn and the entire town of Oxford!!

Food is always great!! Hats off to the chef. A big shout out to out waiter Christian. He is excellent at what he does. Overall it’s always an excellent dining experience

The food was incredible, much better than anticipated. We beat a rush from a local annual event and had the full attention of wait staff.

Lunch at the Tavern was everything we were led to expect it to be - and more! Service was flawless, our meals were excellently cooked and prepared and attractively presented. If anything, the quantity of food was a tad more than I am used to for lunch, but that is hardly anything to complain about. As far as value goes, considering the quality of the food and service, the cost was quite reasonable. In fact, I had expected the bill to be somewhat more than it was. We ate a late lunch on a mid-week afternoon and, as expected, the noise level was low. I cannot speak to what it might be at other times, but it was quite comfortable when we were there. We were delighted with the experience and hope to re-live it soon.

Robert Morris Inn is always a great experience. I am sad about the sale and losing Chef Salter next year, but hopeful that the legacy of this wonderful treasure will live on.

We had a very nice experience, as usual. The service was very good, the food excellent, and the ambiance very cozy and comfortable. First time for our daughter and her fiancé, and they enjoyed it as well.
