With a surname that means “fisherman’, Fons de Visscher opened his first fish shop in Helmond in 1984, beloved by locals from afar. The first Seafood Bar he opened in 2012 on the Van Baerlestraat, Amsterdam, which along with his son and daughter grew into an iconic fish restaurant known for its long lines.

Our fish restaurant is renowned for its outstanding quality and service. Whether you’re in the mood for a light lunch or a full meal, The Seafood Bar is the place to be. This was a great restaurant for fresh seafood that was close to our hotel. When you enter the restaurant you can see all the fresh seafood on ice behind the glass. Behind the seafood was the kitchen where you can see all the amazing chefs cooking. The service was great and was very large portions and you don't go away hungry. We got the fresh seafood mix that included shrimp, mussels, clams, snails and other great items. Overall it was a great location and would visit again the next time I am in town. Next time I will try the fried seafood which also looked amazing.

We made reservations. When we showed up ,discovered that we were in the other location, we were lucky and they were accommodating finding us a table there. Food was fabulous and plentiful, staff ,friendly Great service. Was busy and a little noisy, I would certainly return .

Excellent place for great seafood! The location is beautiful and eating there is a treat itself. Been to other locations and I think that this must be one of my favorites.
