   The food was faultless but the service was awful We had to mask for more drinks The bread wasn’t cleared away before we got our starters. We only got 3 or the 4 starters and it was quite a while before the last one came with no apology. The. our main came and they hadn’t cleared the starters and my friend still had her start plate in front of her whilst she was eating her dinner. They came to clear our mains but never asked if we enjoyed it at all through the whole meal All the food was delicious but the service was awful and we didn’t pay the service charge. The staff seemed very disinterested in us and not at all attentive towards us having an enjoyable experience A shame but probably won’t come again

   Middle of December - you would expect festive cheer, quality service and good food - three people £116? Well, the waiting staff were highly inexperienced - the most experienced person almost through a plate of sauces on our table rather than placing it. No personal service, no attention to detail - not sure if it was their fault or lack of training or expecting too much of them. The food was "ok" - personally, I felt it was over priced all things considered and won't be rushing back!

   Service was a bit slow on arrival, due to some issues with table arrangements for other parties. Had to look hard under the salad to find the duck in my duck salad, but it tasted ok. Although labelled “Pecan Pie”, it is more brownie and less pecan. Never happy having to pay a mandatory service charge, as I like to tip according to quality of service.

   It was so cold in the restaurant - had to keep my coat on. Friendly efficient staff tho.

   Booked for a Sunday lunch. The staff accommodated our request for an alternative table without any fuss. The lamb roasts ordered were simply superb, roast potatoes and veggies cooked to perfection and our chosen desserts just right. Only downside was by the end of our time there we were beginning to feel chilly where we were sitting, the restaurant was cold.

   We enjoyed the pies, two of us had cottage and the other had the lamb and apricot pie. They were a good option on the lunch menu and came with vegetables. They were quite reasonably priced. The staff were helpful but service was a bit slow when it came to water for the table and sauces.

    Reliable, consistent pub grub with plenty of options. Portions are very generous, so excellent value. A good, practical option for lunch / meet ups during the day because of its location. There is a good selection of ales on tap and an extensive wine list. Service was polite but a bit lacklustre, I think because of the inexperience of staff. The coffee machine at the bar is noticably noisy - so ask to be seated elsewhere if that might be tricky for maintaining conversation!
