It took a very long time to get our food and one staff member in particular wasn’t friendly and overall all staff were slow to the table. Food was good but in small portions for what you pay

The server seemed more keen on getting rid of my friend and I than taking our order.

Wasn't the greatest meal and not cheap at the same time. I can see why the restaurant was quite empty on a Saturday evening in the middle of London. For the prices being charged there are better steakhouses in London. Service was average drinks took a long time to come.

Terrible experience, our food was served cold and then taken away for reheating and we were only given half of it backs which by then was thoroughly overcooked.

We had our Christmas dinner here. Despite the website claiming that there was a Christmas menu available all week, we were told there was no Christmas menu upon arrival. The staff was lack luster, especially the girl with the dark hair. The young black male waiter was actually good, he was let down by the rest of the team. We had the Sunday roast feast and we could only eat a 3rd of it as all 6 of us had never eaten sun an awful, bland, dry roast before. They forgot to bring the Yorkshire pudding and greens for one person on our table, then told us they had run out and gave us rock hard potatoes instead. During our main course we watched them turn away 2 people looking for a table, claiming they were closing. Worried we had to rush to finish, we asked the waitress when they were closing and she said in 2hrs, so I have to assume they turned them away, because they couldn't be bothered to serve them. Bare in mind, we were 1 of 3 tables, it was not busy at all. We thought we'd try our luck with an apple crumble, big mistake. This was simply a pot of boiled apples with dust rather than crumble, again the worst crumble any of us had ever tasted, not sure how you could get it so wrong. Considering the place was so empty, it was impossible to flag down one of the waiters, they were all huddled around the bar, gabbing and exchanging tales instead of serving the table. They had said they would take money off for the issues with the roasts, but didn't do this. We didn't put up a fight as we just wanted to get out of there. Really ruined our Christmas, especially considering this was the lazy time we were all going to be together before the new year. Do better stoke house or give the space to a more deserving business.

Great food options but portions very small for a dear price Good atmosphere and service . Roast potatoes seems fried and beef Wellington seemed microwaved

We were a table of 4 and we decided to try out Stoke House. Looks wise, the restaurant is lovely, very modern with lovely furnishings, however that's where the good stops. It took a few minutes to be seated, ignored by 1 waitress and finally got the attention of a reluctant waiter to seat us. A young polite waitress took our orders. Our starters arrived and (full rack of ribs) and the topside of the meat was hot, but the underside was stone cold. We flagged this to our waitress and this was then rectified. Our portion came back bigger, however, again, not both sides were pipping hot however by this time, we were starving and ate away. The mains arrived and not everyone was happy, my main was the beef brisket bun, however, another example of poorly heated up food, as the brisket was blackened around the edges from being dried out for too long, however the middle was nice and tender- a little less mustard next time as there was far too much. Another guest had the steak and ale pie and said there was not enough meat to veg ratio but it was piping hot. The desserts arrived and our banana split was meant to be big enough for 2 however, it was a normal portion, nothing generous. The apple crumble looked appealing however the apples were swimming in water rather than a juice or syrup - disappointing. The final insult was the fact we had to tell the waitress to stop asking us to settle the bill whilst we were midway through our dessert course at 9.30pm (she had tried twice prior). There was no options for coffee. Although we had the rib starters removed the bill and one other item, it was really disappointing. This was meant to be a birthday meal which has left a very sour note on all the guests. We appreciate it was a busy evening (you had a Xmas party) however, as paying guests, we all deserve the courteous attention to service and food. Would not recommend.

Good things: Service, drinks and atmosphere. Bad things: Starter was the only good thing, the main meat platter was a let down. The steak was cold, chicken was very dry. Everything had LOT of salt and didn't eat 60% of the meat.
