The Stravaig a contemporary kitchen & cocktail Bar with added function room within the kylestrome hotel. Serving up fresh local Scottish cuisine. In the heart of ayr town centre and private parking. With our cosy bar (the cookie) and restaurant wether it be for food or a cocktail in hand with friends we are here to provide you with top service for any occasion. Beer garden to front and to back for those summer days events. We also have an 80-100 capacity function room with bar for hire.

    the food was poor the shin of beef you never got much of it and i asked for house wine then told when getting thevbill its £30 for bottle of wine very overpriced only 1 duck croquette 2 or 3 would have been good

    We had a business meeting who would like to book for next year due to the quality of food. This is a huge compliment as these are business people who eat out a lot globally, they were from England/ France & Germany and difficult to please with food. Service was good but some staff better than others, inconsistent with over attentiveness & no service when needed.

    From the moment we arrived the service was fantastic. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and above all the food was brilliant.

    Having had breakfast at stravaig we decided to book a dinner for Christmas time. Sadly the service and the food were a huge let down. Ribeye steak had no colour/hadn’t been seared and was comparable to a minute steak. Service let itself down where we waited on menu for desert only to be told some time later that the table was needed back in 8 minutes! When booking the table it suggested that you had table for 2 hours ( standard these days) but we were asked to vacate after 1.5 hours. To finish on a positive the starters we both had were lovely but sadly not enough to encourage me back

    We had a fabulous meal at The Stravaig. Service was fantastic, professional, and friendly staff. The food was delicious, we opted for the Christmas menu and it was all great. It was busy and there was a lovely vibe. I would love to see slightly cheaper wine, there were none under £29.
