   We advised we were going to a show and got there early (5:20 for 5:45). We ordered right away and the Crab Bisque was cold. It was nearly an hour before we got our food and the steaks were not cooked properly and somehow lukewarm at the table. We had to eat fast to get in the theater, some missed the beginning of the show. Then for some reason we went back for a drink after the show and were treated rudely. The restaurant is next door to the theater, this isn’t the first time they’ve had a busy crowd on a Sunday. I don’t know what happened, this was historically a classic Portland eatery.

   The food was very good; portions are small and the prices are on the higher side, given the location that is to be expected. Our service was good, a drink order was late getting to the table, but otherwise decent.

   Food was just not good. I don’t think we really enjoyed anything. Service was slow. We had our water refilled 1 time during the meal. I have had an upset stomach all night after eating there. I would not return.

   The appearance was very appealing and welcoming. I was looking forward to eating here before the show we were seeing. The service was extremely slow, and our friend's salmon was nearly raw (after waiting nearly 40 minutes for our food). My burger was good, nothing too spectacular. My husband's meal was probably the best - the oxtail manicotti. I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. It was a very underwhelming dining experience.

   Beautiful restaurant, but the service was lacking. We had the Valentine’s Day Course meal reservation and our table wasn’t ready had to wait 15 mins for it but the hosts was discussing in front of us why the table wasn’t ready which was odd. When we finally got seated drinks took a half hour to come out, we got to our second course and didn’t even have silverware and at this point our drinks, main course order was never taken until last minute and that took very long to come out as well. Spent 2.5 hours there for only 3 courses the 4th course we just asked to take it to go. Just overall slow service.

   Nice to enjoy a great meal with good food and not too noisy. Excellent service and it was nice that for the most part people actually dressed like they were out to dinner. We will return.

   Service was slow, it took 2 hours for our meal. Attention to detail was missing had to ask for water after order was taken for drinks, lack of pick up of finished dishes, glassware. Food good but confusing. Oysters on half shell were frozen and covered with strings of saffron which felt like eating crunchy hair. Seating was too close to table next to you for fine dining. I don’t want to hear everything my neighbor is saying and vise versa. Couches too low for comfort. Desert was the best.

   Understaffed probably because of busy theatre night. Food pretty good and servers were trying but restaurant completely unprepared to handle a full night. Our table was pushed up against the bar with someone leaning on us! They totally forgot the people next to us and did not come back for our requested coffee and desert order. Would not go there again unless I was dropping in at a time it did not look full.

   Another enjoyable meal at the Heathman Tavern. We have been several times now, and it has been consistently good. I had the steak frites and my friend had the salmon and arugula and both were delicious. Our server was delightful and the drinks were good. I still miss the old Heathman Restaurant, but the Tavern is a worthy, less expensive, and more casual successor.

    Since the last time we were here they have elevated their pub food menu considerably. We had a carrot tartare that was unusual and excellent and the streak frites was great, too.
