   we enjoyed everything about our delicious breakfast ( but what stood out and stole our hearts was the warm, friendly and knowledgeable server…what an 😇.

   The Heathman has been a consistently wonderful place for at least 35 years that I've lived in Portland. Great food, service and proximity to the core of downtown.

   Their fixed price theatre menu was excellent and a good value. Timed to get you to the theatres next door in plenty of time. Waited quire a while to get our cocktails however. I think the bar was understaffed.

   We shared the Steak Frites which was excellent. But the service was appalling. We got there on time at 6.30, were told our table wasn't ready and had to wait for a table to be cleared. The moment we were seated we explained to our waitperson that we were going to a show and immediately ordered a drink each and the entree. We waited from 6.45 to 7.10 for the drinks, the explanation was the "computer tape got stuck" (?????). We explained again about not wanting to be late for the show. Our wait person just kept smiling and saying they had our order....Then finally our steak arrived. We paid right away and literally had to run to The Keller in order to get there at 8pm for the show to start. Needless to say we won't be back. Too many other good restaurants with good service in downtown Portland.

   This was our first visit the the Tavern at Heathman and it was terrific. I had the Steak Frittes and she had the Burger and both were excellent. The steak was rare (as I ordered it) and tender and delicious. The Dijon sauce was a great accompaniment. The Burger was excellent and the house red wine is an excellent Pinot Noir. Service was fast and professional. We'll definitely be back to try some of the other very interesting choices on the menu.

   IT seemed like a bunch of junior high students opened a restaurant and made-up recipes that were intended to be 'impressive' but were simply pretentious and tasted like they didn't get nuanced of flavor combinations. The choices were scant and disappointing. It was a bad experience all the way around. Service was fine. a little self-indulgent but attentive. There were 4 of and all came to the same conclusion separately. that we wound not return.

   Disappointing. The location, ambiance and decor is excellent. Drinks- ordinary. Service- adequate. The food however, was lacking. Expensive for something just ordinary.

    Food was just ok. Convenient location next to the Schnitzer before a show. The hostess was weirdly hostile.
