Booked this as something different for my partner’s birthday but it was a bit of a disappointment. No front of house so we just stood awkwardly waiting to be seated, eventually approached someone at the bar who told us where to sit but it felt very unorganised. The (only) waiter did get us a free drink to apologise for the waiting times which was nice, and most of the staff were lovely, but it just felt very poorly planned and no one really knew what they were doing. The food was ok, bit expensive for the amount but it came out fairly quickly. Overall wouldn’t bother again, wasn’t worth it and would just go to the normal Refuge dining room for better food and service. Waited about 20 minutes just to pay the bill and left feeling quite flat! Luckily had a drink in the main Refuge bar to save the evening…

The food was good but the staff looked like it was their first day on the job. £16 for a very modestly sized cocktail and the hot chocolate bar was slightly disappointing. No marmallows or squirty cream (I would consider these basics!). The whole experience was ok but I don’t think it’s quite Moet & Chandon standard.

Was a little chilly but the food was absolutely wonderful. Incredible onion soup and loved the fondue. Could have done with more heaters on and the food was a bit of a wait but was worth it when it came!

Setting was nice, if a little cold. We braved the cold for one drink wrapped under blankets. Better service than the main Refuge dining area but still didn't go above and beyond.

We had 4 tables booked at 5 and 5.15pm. We arrived separately and someone from each table went to the bar. They couldn’t cope serving this many and sent some into the refuge bar. It took on average 30-45 minutes to get simple drinks, never mind cocktails! We started to go to order food and were told they would take our orders together so the bar was free. They then came back 20minutes later to say because we put a big order in it would be another 30mins. It came and was tasty but if you didn’t have the fondue it was very expensive for not a lot of food. We had 10 minutes eating our food then the assistant manager came and told us we were a big group who they should have “banned” immediately and that we needed to move to some comfy chairs to give the tables to others. We obliged good naturedly as we are nice people. We then again all went to get drinks from the different bars as the external one had very little stock and one server! I waited 45mins at the bar for 2 drinks. A friend ordered us baileys and 20mins later they arrived. The server moved round the assistant manager who came and told us we had 15 minutes to drink up and leave as they needed these seats now. We had booked tables on the website and were able to book them so they should have been able to serve them. I pointed out when we waited that long for drinks, that 15 minute warning was not acceptable. They were understaffed, disorganised and rude. The Italian waitress was exemplary, the food was nice but expensive, all the rest was poor beyond understanding and expensive for the pleasure of being treated like criminals for doing nothing wrong. It was horrendous. Don’t go!

There was only one staff member in the terrace area so service was quite slow as he was trying to manage behind the bar on his own and take food orders etc. The fondue was nice but not so sure about the broccoli and radishes to dip in, would have been better with chunky bread or potato. Had a nice evening but nothing spectacular.

The service was great, however most of the outdoor heaters were not working as they’d run out of gas so it was quite cold. The cheese fondue sharer was very small and not the best value.
