Following a major refurbishment in Autumn 2014 under the new ownership, Sally and Dave pride themselves on offering fresh, local, homemade food every day from 9am to 9pm.

The various menus include restaurant quality seasonal dishes from the ‘Chef’s Recommendations’ section through to a great selection of fresh fish and tasty steaks.

We could not have had more assistance or better surroundings fo r this my birthday meal. I was attentively helped regarding my lactose free need and adjustments made and checked again. variously we were asked regarding our pleasure with everything, Clearly excellent cooking and very attentive waiters .# I may even come for a short stay next year. Thankyou.

We've eaten at The Throckmorton before and attended various events such as Burns Night suppers, and the food and overall experience have always been very good. But the Game week special menu took it to an even higher level. The food was superb!

Friendly service and food was lovely. The menu was reasonably priced for the standard of food offered. Have been here several times and always had a lively meal. Would highly recommend.

Lovely food but service was very slow and it was long periods between seeing the waiting staff This would make me think twice about going back

Stayed for night for anniversary. Room was excellent (huge king sized bed). Food in evening was outstanding as was the service. Will be returning soon.
