The Union Bank—affectionately known as "The UB" to locals—is a unique dining destination in the heart of Orange. With its rich heritage charm, it offers a variety of spaces to explore and enjoy.

At the Schoolhouse Restaurant, our flagship dining space, we take all bookings. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, our stunning courtyard connects all areas and offers the perfect casual setting. While we don’t take bookings for the courtyard, you’re welcome to request it in your booking notes, and if the weather cooperates, we’ll be happy to seat you outside!

For group dining, The UB offers several private spaces, ideal for gatherings of 8 to 40 people. Whether you're hosting a business meeting or celebrating a special occasion, we have the perfect setting for you.

The iconic and heritage listed Union Bank building is spoilt for private event and dining spaces. Whether you're after an intimate private dining room, or the whole Schoolhouse restaurant, we have plenty of options. Spaces include: The Lobby is a small and intimate private dining room for up to 8 guests. The Bank Room is a large private dining room for up to 18 guests. lovely food, nice garden setting and music (quiet, taped). i was impressed how well the staff coped with a huge number of people over easter. quality of food and service remained high.

Such a lovely restaurant. We sat outside for lunch and it was a beautiful day. The potato scallops, pate and calamari were delicious. We had pork amd short ribs for mains with the leaf salad. Could not fault any of it. Will definately be back

Delicious meal, rabbit terrine with ciabatta amazing, and short ribs tasty with chips. Enough for two of us. Veggie options not extensive but didn’t bother us or limited desserts. Service was great. Memorable night for us travellers.

The food was fabulous. However the scallops that we were recommended didn’t really meet expectations as I thought they were coming with chilli as Barry had told us. The service was attentive until the end when we were trying to get the bill and no one wanted to make eye contact and we had to flag another wait staff down. Just felt a little let done at the end.

One of the best meals we have had in ages. We went to rockpool last weekend and this surpassed it, no doubt. Every dish was flavour wow and it ended with the ice cream sandwich that was bliss. Great staff and a gorgeous indoor setting. Highly recommend.

Great food as always , however still don’t understand the owners attitude about not letting people in a couple of minutes before 12 midday when we had a booking at 12 . It’s the country , not double bay !

We had the tasting menu. The presentstion was good but every savory dish was too heavily salted. The side salad was smothered in a strangely sweet dressing.The meat was too chewy. The best thing was the bread and the jalapeno appetiser. While the meal was a bit disappointing we will still return because it is a lovely venue, service is good and we will select the things from the menu that we know and like.
