The Vig at McDowell Mountain is the 5th member in the Vig family of restaurants and the 11th establishment in the Genuine Concepts family of bars and restaurants. This Vig boasts breathtaking views of the McDowell mountains while featuring 2 full-service bars, spacious indoor booth and table seating and more than ample outdoor facilities for games and activities.
The Vig at McDowell Mountain is in a new standalone building on the southwest corner of Bell Road and Thompson Peak Parkway. The roughly 13,000-square-foot space is designed to take advantage of mountain views with large glass windows and other elements that bring the outdoors inside.

    My husband didn’t like the fish and chips. My sister’s pastrami was too fatty and needed more lean meat. I loved the steak frites but French fries were hard. Too much screaming about the football game from other patrons and was jarring. We prefer a more relaxed restaurant setting. If we come back, going out on the patio if it’s a nice weather evening might be a better idea.

    The best crispy cauliflower & Brussel sprout salad around! Outdoor seating & service is also wonderful. Just a great place to eat time & time again.

    The Vig is a fun neighborhood restaurant. We've been there many times and have had good service and good food. Seeing the new setup on the outdoor turf was a little shocking. There were so many chairs and tables set up outside, it felt like a giant wedding would take place with 100 people. It has lost its cozy, private, calm vibe. However, our server was wonderful.

    Was disappointed in the mac and cheese. It used to be very creamy. This time was very dry. Noble pretzel, great. Grilled wings used to be very good. This time, they were blah. Gilled chicken chopped salad was tasteless. Ruben was excellent. Perhaps it was just an off night. The butterscotch bread pudding, which used to be stunning, for some reason, has had has poppy seeds for a few years. Why?

    We were there the night of a large private party outdoors. While service and food were good, the atmosphere outdoors was not very pleasant. The patio tables were much too close together and the live music, right by the door where we were seated, added to the increased noise level.
