We were the only ones eating, there is a pool table in the middle of the restaurant which people obviously come and play at - which isn’t ideal when you are trying to eat! no complaints about the food.

This was our first time at the Village Inn since it changed management. We went with our son and his girlfriend. Our son is a coeliac and has to be extremely careful about what he eats. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. He had beer battered fish followed by sticky toffee pudding which were both gluten free. He was delighted particularly as he’d never had sticky toffee pudding before. The rest of our food was also very good. But the big find was definitely the gluten free aspect.

Generally, the food was good although my Hunter's Chicken was very dry even though there was adequate sauce with it. Service was quick but the restaurant area was mixed in with the public bar area which was quite noisy. Would be better having a separate area away from the bar. I also didn't like the way you are made to feel 'obliged' to add a tip when paying by card. The tablet shows 3 tip options (15%, 25% and another) or no tip. I feel that this option should be left to the customer to decide what size of tip should be given if they felt the food and service is acceptable.

We popped up for a date night the staff were very welcoming and the lady was so bubbly and lovely. They welcomed my noisy dog with a drink. So overall we’re be back I would definitely recommend them

Very quiet country pub, friendly staff and good service. I had the vegetable lasagne, which was very bland and basic, after I had a coffee which was barely warm. I didn’t complain as I felt it probably wouldn’t be made properly again. The pub lacks personality/ambience which is a shame as it could be very good with a bit of love.
