   We had a wonderful experience at Village Pub celebrating my dad’s birthday. The spring menu was light and delicious (we had both seafood and steak) and the service was impeccable. The sommelier was knowledgeable and recommended nice wines to complement the experience.

   We are going to France in June but were saddened to realize that white asparagus would be out of season. But, our wish was granted when the Pub offered a beautiful white asparagus dish, asparagus flown in from the Loire valley. Perfect meal and fabulous service.

   This experience is either 1st or 2nd for us EVER. We have dined at many high end and Michelin Star/rated restaurants and this one was without doubt the most memorable, above French Laundry etc. The food was fantastic but the service elevated things to a different level, I don't mean over attentive as in some places, simply great service from real people going above and beyond to make a really special night. I booked on Open Table and added a note letting the restaurant know it was our 20th wedding anniversary and would appreciate a copy of the menu and perhaps a kitchen tour if they offered such a thing. I did not receive any response so assumed it wasn't read so never gave it another thought. On arriving at the restaurant the person at the front desk wished us a happy anniversary. The server said happy 20th anniversary, and later the floor manager wished us the same. Everyone knew and each person made it feel a genuine heartfelt gesture rather than just words! The waiter/server was fantastic even though at one point I felt a little disappointed in him telling me not to order a particular dish that I actually hoped to be talked into ordering. As it turned out he brought me both dishes - clearly he went out of his way to make things extra special and give that extra dish although obviously this isn't something the restaurant can do generally! The floor manager came by late between main course and dessert and gave us a kitchen tour and at the end of the evening they gave us a copy of the menu that had been signed by the various people including the chef. Everything was so thoughtful leading to an incredibly memorable evening - we will for sure return and have been raving to friends about The Village Pub

   It took them over an hour just to serve the complimentary bread, and nearly two hours before we received our first course.

   Despite holding a reservation, we experienced a substantial delay in being seated, followed by an extended wait for the main course. We were then asked to vacate the table shortly after being served. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that raises questions about the restaurant’s Michelin star designation.

   Not sure if this was a one-off day, but while the food was very good - the delay to receive our entrees was over an hour. Fortunately, the ambience offset the wait. Hopefully it will be better next time.

   Our server was AMAZING - she told us how she’s been there since the beginning, and she made it a very special experience. Fun seeing celebrity clientele. Will be back!
