   Really lovely food, service was good but completely let down by the atmosphere. The pub was completely empty apart from ourselves (a couple) and a group of people who were very loud and drunk, playing drinking games and swearing very loudly. Not the nicest ambience whilst trying to have a nice meal out together. It’s a shame as I probably wouldn’t go back due to this reason.

   Nice country pub which I have been frequenting on and off for many years. Recently returned after a couple of years and change of ownership and was pleased to find that food still as good and that the interior of the pub was considerably brighter having been refurbished.

   Really good food and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the layout of the building means that tables are cramped together and, in some cases, effectively in a corridor from the kitchen. No one's fault - it's the downside of being in an historic and, otherwise atmospheric, building. But it did detract from the experience.

   Absolutely lovely welcome, fantastic food (hoummos and sourdough, mussels, truffle and parmesan fries, chocolate delice) in a great setting. Will absolutely return.

   Pub looked very dull inside . Had roast dinner which was ok but had bits of twig rosemary and something that tasted like aniseed . Roast potatoes way undercooked completely pale . Chicken was tasty , excellent Yorkshire pudding .

   Great Relaxing Sunday lunch. Easy to book - the food was delicious and considering they were fully booked and we were a table of 8 adults and 3 children it came quickly and was consistently good across the table (we all ordered slightly differently off the menu). The plates were good portion sizes and lot of lovely veg. Thank you Vine Tree

    We love the seating areas outside, perfect for late summer sunshine. Unfortunately they weren’t geared up for serving food outside in respect of staffing. But we did ask to sit outside in the end, as did other guests, just had to go in to order our food and get our own drinks. Not a big deal. Main courses were great 😊, the pigs ear croquettes starter were greasy and gritty, not pleasant. No desserts. We love the courtyard seating area by the fountain, feels very Mediterranean ❤️
