Welcome to The Wee Choo-Choo – Pitlochry's most unique and exciting dining experience! Step aboard our beautifully restored Norwegian railway carriage.

Our Daughter-and-Mother team owns and operates the restaurant Mia and Isara McCallum. Mia McCallum is from Phuket, Thailand, and is in charge of the dining experience. Isara is our main chef, also born in South Thailand. She brings her passion for traditional Thai cooking to the heart of Highland Perthshire.

Whether you're a fan of classic Thai curries or fragrant stir-fries, our menu has something to delight every palate. We use only the freshest ingredients and locally sourced produce to ensure every dish bursts with flavour.

Excellent. Saw a review somewhere, some fool complaining there were bean sprouts in their Pad Thai, like complaining there were potatoes in fish and chips. Such ignorance publicly paraded can damage a place's reputation so I'd have uprated my rating to compensate but in fact I don't need to,. Really enjoyed our meal. This is a real asset for Pitlochry. We recommend it to our guests.

To start, the setting is stunning - the ex-railway coach (originally from Norway and featured in one of Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible movies) has been lovingly refurbished and decorated. The eye for colour and attention to detail is really impressive. The service was excellent throughout and the food was sublime. Great selection of cocktails too. This is a real family business - mum does the cooking, dad makes the ice cream and the daughter welcomes and serves. Whenever we return to Pitlochry we will definitely eat here again.

Lovely meal. We had the satay & spring roll platter to start then the beef panang and salmon, finishing off with rubies pearls and ice cream. It was really quiet but it was mid week and off season. Service was great, staff were really friendly.

Lovely service and fun location but the food was awful. Frozen veg in the green curry - that wasn’t a curry but just watery frozen veg covered in a thin watery paste. Lots of rice- but for £25 you should expect a decent meal. Huge garnish which was very unlike any other Thai meal I’ve ever had or seen but it did fill up the plate and hid the meal its self. Satay and spring roll platter were ok but again from frozen and the spring roll was full of a flavourless paste. Really lazy cooking.

Dear Jackie We wish you had spoken to us so we could have remade the dish, offered you a new dish, or not charged you for the dish. Our green curry is different because it is genuine with no artificial flavourings or colourings maybe that is the diffrence you detected, We do not have frozen vegetables or pre-prepared vegetables. We buy the vegetables daily and prepare them daily. We cut, seasoned and cooked the vegetables for your green curry as we prepared the dish. The satay is made from locally sourced chicken breasts and the spring rolls are made from scratch every morning from fresh ingredients. The sauces, food and garnishes made from fresh ingredients took several hours to prepare.
