Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

Join us at The Whitby Bar for a delicious Afternoon Tea served in the colorful restaurant or the elegant Orangery. Served on Kit Kemp's beautiful Sailor's Farewell Wedgwood china, enjoy delectable finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon mousse, Egg salad remoulade, selection of mouthwatering cakes and homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves. $75 per person or $95 including a glass of Joseph Perrier. Afternoon Tea service reservations are booked through the experience. We ask you to cancel your reservation by 10pm the day prior. We have a 5 minute grace period in case you are running late. Please call 646-928-4207 If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Special requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance.

Experience an elevated Afternoon Tea at The Whitby Bar, where our new spring menu highlights the season’s finest flavors. Served in our colorful restaurant or the elegant Orangery, Afternoon Tea is presented on Kit Kemp’s signature Sailor’s Farewell Wedgwood china, adding a touch of charm to this indulgent experience. Begin with a selection of savory bites, including smoked chicken salad with sour cherry aioli and watercress, curried Maine lobster salad on brioche, egg salad with Périgord black truffle remoulade, and Robiola cheese with cucumber and dill. For those with a sweet tooth, our pastry selection features a rich 70% Valrhona chocolate opera cake, black raspberry bomboloni, pistachio canelé with Amarena cherries, and a delicate elderflower and Meyer lemon pudding tart. No Afternoon Tea is complete without scones, and ours are freshly baked in plain and apricot varieties, served with traditional clotted cream and preserves. Guests can enjoy their choice of drip coffee, hot chocolate, or one of our carefully curated specialty teas. For a more indulgent experience, consider our Royal Tea for Two. This luxurious addition includes one ounce of Petrossian Royal Ossetra caviar, served with warm house-made blinis, crème fraîche, and fines herbes. The Royal Tea is available at $155 per person, or $165 per person when paired with a glass of Joseph Perrier, Brut NV. Our traditional Afternoon Tea is offered at $95 per person, or $125 per person with a glass of Joseph Perrier, Brut NV. Reservations for Afternoon Tea are available exclusively through The Experience. We kindly request that cancellations be made by 10 PM the day prior to your booking. My recent afternoon tea experience was enjoyable overall, but it had its ups and downs. The sandwich selection was quite plain, and the bread was disappointingly dry—perhaps left over from the night before. A little more creativity and freshness would have made a world of difference. However, the real star of the tray was the scones—freshly baked, bursting with flavor, and paired beautifully with the marmalades. They were simply fabulous. The champagne was good, but don’t expect a complimentary splash. Service, on the other hand, was exceptional, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Despite the minor shortcomings, it was a pleasant afternoon, and I’d consider returning—perhaps with hopes of a more refined pastry selection and fresher sandwiches next time.
