The White Oak Tavern is a family-owned business, operated by a brother & sister that are Ellicott City locals. The menu includes seasonal scratch made items, sustainable meats & produce from local farms and purveyors. The White Oak Burger is a community favorite and has been recognized as the best burger in Howard County for several years. The outdoor patio is dog friendly with a special dog menu. The bar has 42 rotating craft beers with a wide selection of styles with a free-to-join mug club. This includes a specialty cocktail menu with different seasonal ingredients along with a fresh mocktail menu. The Tavern offers brunch seven days a week with bottomless brunch cocktails and Sunday jazz brunch from 11am-2pm. On Friday & Saturday local musicians perform from 8-11pm.     Our server was awesome. She was attentive and very nice. The home made soup was delicious! We had chili and cream of mushroom soup. The atmosphere was warm and the background live music excellent!

    We had a very nice weekday dinner at the White Oak Tavern. We shared a brussel sprout appetizer. The combination of brussel sprouts, apple, and roasted nuts was delicious. I had a vegan burger and my wife a beef tavern burger. Both were quite good. And, we accompanied the food with several local craft beers. Service was friendly and attentive.

    Overall, it was a good experience - the service was excellent, the table was waiting for us, and the food came out quickly and hot. The appetizers were excellent and the main dishes were good. We decided against dessert as we were all full. The restaurant was packed and I am glad to see it as it is a local favorite.

    The food is pretty bad, but it has the odd distinction of thinking it’s good. The beet small plate was good. Pot stickers, “house made” ketchup, and burger were bad. Service was not great.

    Seated promptly for 6:30 PM reserv. Waiter, Scott was good (didn't see him for 10-15 mins +, tho during meal). Ordered beef stroganoff and hunter stew. Place busy but not slammed. Noisy with people talking over one another. The issue was waiting on our entrees during 10-15 min of no waiter, another guy showed up with the plates. Hunter stew lukewarm...beef stroganoff cold. Drinks were tasty... dessert pretty good.

    I was there for an early lunch and loved that they served breakfast until 2 o’clock! I had the French toast, which was very good and the bacon, which was amazing! I would definitely go back again!
