Lamb shank - beautifully cooked and so tender that a knife was basically an unnecessary luxury. Potatoes? Not the best and definitely not crispy. They might as well have been called “couch potatoes” because they were lacking that crunch we all crave. The veggies were flavoursome, but the broccoli seemed to have missed the memo on cooking times and was a tad overcooked for my taste. Now, the roast parsnips were a delightful surprise! Beautiful flavour and cooked to perfection - they should win an award for "Best Supporting Vegetable." Pigs in blankets: nice, but could definitely use an upgrade. The bacon was good, but the sausage? Well, let’s just say it was about as exciting as watching paint dry – very bland. The Yorkshire pudding? Good size, check! Little bland, check again! But overall, it was solid. No soggy bottoms and a great crispy top – a true gold star for this classic dish! Then we get to the cauliflower cheese, which was very soft to the point of being shy, and the cheese? Let’s just say it was a bit on the bland side as well. Now, let’s talk about the gin menu! Probably the biggest gin menu I’ve ever seen outside of a distillery – nine pages long! If you enjoy gin, you’re truly spoilt for choice. I mean, who knew there were that many ways to enjoy a juniper-flavoured drink? The food menu was quite extensive for a gastro pub; you could get lost in there for days! Dessert – wow, what can I say?! I went for the traditional jam roly-poly, and it was beautiful! I can’t tell if it was made on site, but it was bursting with flavour and a generous portion size. No complaints here – simply put, it was beautiful!

I brought my children for dinner today and they were as impressed as I always am! As usual, the roast dinner was cooked to perfection and the children really enjoyed their burgers and sausages and despite being very full, also managed to make room for ice cream and chocolate brownie. Lovely wine, good coffee and helpful, friendly staff and owners. Thanks Will and Jason for a lovely, relaxing Sunday.

We were a table of 14. The staff were really attentive and copied with our orders exceptionally well. We had pre ordered and all the food came out as we had ordered hot and lovely. We also had a very last minute addition to our numbers which was no problem to them at all. The food was lovely everyone enjoyed it with no complaints from anyone. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you guys.

As always, a wonderful Sunday roast complete with gluten free Yorkshire Puddings. My partner had Aunt Donna’s Big Kebab with skin on fries which was huge and delicious! Delightful Rioja and a pint of Neck Oil. Sadly no room for the wonderful puddings today. Thanks for another lovely dining experience.
