    Beautiful place, food was lovely. We stayed over for the night, rooms are so cosy, modern and comfy. Quality breakfast and staff were fabulous. Will be returning without a doubt.

    Lovely friendly place, we both had the fish and chips, as good as we've had anywhere and only £10 each as a lunchtime special. Staff were all good and it is very dog friendly. Highly recommended.

    Excellent service - efficient, attentive and friendly without being in-your-face. A lovely bar area, with a log fire burning merrily, which was very welcome after the damp and chilly sea air of Alnmouth. Very good food which is tempting to over-order; a temptation which we sadly succumbed to which meant a fair amount of the side of green veg went uneaten because there was such a generous portion. But the quality was beyond reproach, the creamy madeira sauce with pancetta and wild mushrooms which accompanied the pan-fried chicken supreme being especially noteworthy. I'd recommend the Whittling House to anyone looking for a cosy, very good quality, meal. Just beware of over-ordering!

    Lovely Sunday roast dinner and pudding in a wonderful cosy setting, tables are spread out and the space feels intimate. A really great place to catch up with friends. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

    Recommended by a friend to my wife and I so decided to experience Whittling house for our selves it was absolutely delightful and the staff where very attentive without being over powering will definitely be dining there again regards John & Janice
