We had the seafood tasting menu costing £60 pp with the additional wine pairing of £40pp. Our 2 person table was close to the open fire which was good as it was cold. A table of 4 people were chatting loudly very close to us. We couldn’t have a private conversation. There’s no ambient music to create an atmosphere. The squid was too salty, the table next door also remarked on it. The soufflé had sunk. The cod was very good. Our first three courses were delivered at speed making it uncomfortable. It felt like a conveyor belt. We asked for a break before the cod was served which was accommodated happily. The waitresses were friendly but had no knowledge of the food or wine. The menu was our only information. For a tasting menu the price was reasonable but the experience was poor. We wouldn’t return.

Delicious Sunday roast with all the trimmings for three (one chicken, two nut roast) and couldn't resist trying out desserts (two creme brûlée, one vegan apple tart) - all scrumptious. Excellent Chardonnay too. Staff lovely and provided just the right level of attentiveness.

Outstanding food and fantastic service. I had the monkfish tail and prawn yellow Thai curry and sticky toffee pudding, both were absolutely delicious. I would definitely go back.

Excellent fish and chips, beautifully cooked with creamed peas and tartar sauce. Very generous helping too all for £10. The price of a glass of wine thought is silly, hence we had coke zero (a glass for £4! Crazy) and water.

The food was average, which was a shame as we were expecting more based on the menu and general setting. However, a constant pungent smell from the drains throughout the meal was extremely off-putting. The venue clearly has an issue with its drains as we’ve eaten here in the past and experienced the same thing - in the back rooms. We will not be returning.
