   It was a very good experience all round. The service from the staff was excellent.Attentive without being over bearing. I would heartly recommend it.

   We had Sunday lunch here a while ago and it was great, this time it wasn’t. The food was only warm, Not hot, and the quality wasn’t great. Service was very nonchalant too.

   Lovely pub and friendly staff. Mediocre roast dinner though. Vegetables were undercooked so was very disappointing. I've been before and the roasts were much better. Also very strange choices of desserts for a Sunday. Maybe it was a new chef so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

   Unfortunately we did not enjoy our experience at the W and F. We went for Sunday lunch and found the atmosphere was tense and unwelcoming. The table nearest to us had a couple who were both taking phone calls for the duration of our visit and seemed to be working (perhaps they were staff?). The waitstaff were brusque and unfriendly, we were a table of 4 with 3 adults and 1 child. When our drinks order was taken the waitress walked off before we had a chance to order a drink for our daughter. We were offered a separate plate for our daughter as the child’s roast came on a very hot plate. When a different waitress brought it she placed it on the opposite side of the table without even looking at us. The restaurant was quiet so I cannot attribute this atmosphere to overworked overstretched staff. It was simply unpleasant. To top it all off the food wasn’t particularly nice either. The roast beef was tough and chewy and the roast potatoes were pale and hard. We left feeling disappointed and will not be visiting again.

    I have been to this restaurant a number of times and everything, food, service, atmosphere has always been excellent, on this occasion the service was quite slow and it wasn't that busy, when my Father and I had finished our main course we were waiting for a good 15 minutes maybe more for service so I had to go the bar to ask and it took a while for staff to notice I waas there as they were busy chatting which isn't really acceptable. This is a lovely restaurant and on this occasion was a bit disappointing so please don't let it happen again
