The Woollen Mills has been one of the most iconic buildings and businesses in Dublin for over one hundred years, and to have taken over this site is a serious privilege. Much like our award-winning sister restaurant next door, The Winding Stair, we feel like we are custodians of something very special... a piece of history (James Joyce worked here, how unbelievable is that?!) and we must do it proud! Spanning over four floors and with a glorious roof terrace overlooking the River Liffey. The Woollen Mills is quintessentially Irish, local and of its locale. We want it to be an 'Eating House', a house of food, a place to grab a coffee and bun, a plate of Irish fish and chips, a place to score a casual bite befre the nearby theatres and cinemas or sit with seven courses of Irish antipasti, burrata, crab, lamb or cauliflower steak, overlooking the Ha'penny Bridge with a fine bottle of red or a craft beer. We hope we do it well.

Really good service, when I was booking I asked for a ground floor table as we had a buggy with us. When we arrived we were given a table with lots of room for a buggy beside it which was a welcome surprise. Turkey and cranberry sandwiches and soup were really nice and general ambience was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

We were a bit disappointed by this restaurant after seeing so many positive reviews. Our table was opposite the setting sun, and my husband was a bit blinded. Another customer got up to adjust the blinds as they, too, were getting blinded by it. It was a brunch menu, one person ordered the burger and chips and really loved it, another 2 ordered waffles, one with chicken which they enjoyed and another with bacon and poached eggs. However, both said afterwards that the waffles were not hot. I ordered Caesar salad, which had chargrilled chicken, which was a bit tough, and the dressing was pretty bland. My husband had a glass of draught beer, which he liked, but no extra drinks were offered. So a very average experience overall.

Overall happy but Felt a bit like we were on a conveyer belt all really rushed they were polite however just felt like we were in and out in minutes, started at 20 past 6 and done by 6.45. The food was really nice however the potion size for the dessert was really small for the price you pay!

Top marks for Staff and especially Gary. It is Christmas party season, so everywhere is noisy at the minute. Food was only ok and thought overpriced for what is was.

Our reservation was only available for outside and while there were some heat lamps we had to keep our jackets on the whole time. Outside of that, the dinner was tasty and we appreciated the plant-based options. Prices were slightly higher than the food demands in my opinion, but that seems to be the trend of the area.

Excellent food, very reasonably priced for the city centre and portions were generous. Cocktails were absolutely lovely as was the recommended wine.

Lazy menu, a number of the starters are also served as mains. The burger came with only chips a bit of salad would have enhanced it. The pricing and size of drinks available is criminal, €8 for 300ml stout is pure rip-off. I have every sympathy with the hospitality industry but taking customers for a ride will not win you repeat business.
