Absolutely delicious!
So pleased with our experience at Thousand Pound. We had the “feed me” menu for 2. Great options and the perfect amount of food, accompanied by a great wine list we couldn’t fault it. Timings between dishes were perfect. Able to meet dietary requests.
Staff attentive and great table side service, very polite and knowledgeable on the dishes.
Ambience was fantastic, we sat outside with our dog and the team even bought a dog bowl out!
Would recommend and will be returning as soon as we can, thank you Thousand Pound for providing something Rutherglen has been missing!

Some of the dishes such as the sweet and sour tempura prawns were standouts, but unfortunately not all. The half chicken definitely didn't meet expectations - the chicken was dry (actually tasted re-heated) and the sauce just tasted like very salty soy sauce.

New menu of Asian fusion so we thought we would try Thousand Pounds again. Had thr chicken riblets which was a generous portion size for a smaller plate. Plenty of chicken on the bone and nice and spicy ✅️. The tempura prawns were also nice and a generous size portion. That's where unfortunately the compliments stop.
The whipped tofu with "crispy chilli" had no flavour and no heat. Could do with salt and peper seasoning and even some seseme oil on top. Really anything ti give it flavour. The texture however was pleasant.
We asked for fresh chilli on the side and was given capsicum. When asked again was informed no fresh chilli and can give chilli flakes. Next we had the beef skewers which arrived cold, they rectified that to which they were then luke warm, the meat was extremely tender to the point it had no texture and no flavour and neither did the marinate sauce it was on.
This was a big let down as the menu looked promising.
If your going to do Asian fusion, have the correct condiments on hand, make sure the food has flavour, ensure the food when made is served straight away and not sitting at the counter for 10 minutes before serving.

Great food and service. Really good drink selection and excellent vibes inside. The service was really human for a restaurant of this quality and that really mattered to me ! Nice work.

Thousand Pounds food was fabulous. There was so many yummy dishes to choose from, so we opted for the feed me option and was blown away with the favours of every dish. Excellent value too.
Highly recommend the Rutherglen gem.

We were warned…
…warned that we’d have to be rolled out! Had a great dinner with some interesting and tasty small plates. It was the last onion ring that pushed me over the edge. No regrets.
