Afternoon Tea at Tillie’s unfolds as an experience, where every detail — from the first sip to the final crumb — invites you into a celebration of history, flavor, and connection. Inspired by our sister property, The Old Bell Hotel in Malmesbury, England, and infused with the spirit of the Texas Hill Country, this experience invites guests to slow down and savor. Join us between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and discover a three-tiered presentation of freshly baked scones, delicate finger sandwiches, and handcrafted sweets, each thoughtfully paired with premium teas or sparkling wines. Much like the women of Victorian England — and Tillie Hancock herself, the pioneering namesake of our restaurant — guests gather here not just for the food, but for the conversation, the connections, and the simple joy of sharing an afternoon together. At Tillie’s, every cup poured and every bite enjoyed tells a story — one that bridges centuries, continents, and the timeless pleasure of gathering with the people we cherish.

Visited for brunch and the food was good (cinnamon bun very good). However, drink service was horrible. Over 25 minutes to get drinks and never saw the service in that period of time. Drinks also expensive at $22 for an espresso martini. Plenty of parking and super cute spot overall.

Kitchen extremely slow and food cold. Both applies to dinner and brunch the next day.

Food was delectable. Ambience was nice and quiet with giant windows and a view. Tori did an outstanding job with service. They even sell local bottles of wine that you cannot get at the store. Incredible experience!!

Before making the reservations, they said they could make accommodations for a vegan and that was not the case.

The food was good, the service was not to the standards I expected. One of our guests, found the pork chop to be very, very fatty. The meat lovers enjoyed the short ribs a lot. The vegetarian choices are limited. The atmosphere is lovely.

As always, food, beverages and service were superb. They make an excellent vodka martini. As we drove up, one of our party asked “who would’ve imagined such a nice restaurant in such a remote location”? The setting along Onion Creek in Texas ranch land is very nice. Plan on spending $75-$100/person. Great place for a special occasion.

Food was amazing. Service an absolute joke. Made reservations, although we didn’t need to because it was very slow. We are promptly seated upon walking in, however after this, that’s when the slow down begin. We were seated at our table for around 10 minutes before our server approached us. Although we were provided water, nothing else was provided to us nor we checked on during this 10 minutes. When the server approached us, she asked what we wanted to drink, and my husband told her that we were ready to order because we’ve been waiting. She told us it’s because that she had to wait on another table. Well, I understand that servers have multiple tables. We did see this particular server walking back-and-forth past our table multiple times and none of those times did she stop to say I’ll be right with you or something to just acknowledge us. and I’ll mention once again, the place was not busy. After she took our order which constituted for two meals, a cinnamon roll to go and one cocktail, she walked away. It took about five minutes to the cocktail and I’m not sure how much longer it took to get the food. She did come to fill our water however there really wasn’t much conversation. then at the very end of our meal, instead of walking up and asking if we wanted anything else, she just delivered our check and the cinnamon roll to go and told us whenever we are ready. it would have been nice to be asked if we wanted anything else as I was planning to have dessert. Overall, the entire dining experience was very awkward and not at all what I expected for the amount we paid. Fortunately we were celebrating our anniversary so at least now we have a memory of a totally awkward dining experience so we won’t forget the event.

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever dined in! The appetizers we got both seemed to need a little salt, but were still fantastic! The halibut and short rib were incredible, and my drink The Bourbonist is probably my favorite drink of all time now!!!
