Cathy Ortega & Gerald Aquintey didn't know what to expect after finally opening up a Filipino small grocery & takeout joint together. The shop was doing great but they wanted to do more. They wanted to give Toronto a much more authentic Filipino taste and experience without the price of a flight to the Philippines. Kamayan / Boodle Fight (the formality of eating with your hands) was the obvious solution.

Tinuno - Downtown offers a unique Kamayan feast experience with "great food and great value." Guests enjoy the communal dining style with flavorful Filipino dishes like garlic rice, seafood, and mango salad. While the ambiance is cozy and service attentive, some mention "service was up to par" and the need for more dipping sauce options. Overall, it's a delightful spot for authentic Filipino cuisine.

The chicken skin was shown to be 7 dollars on the menu, but they would only sell it to us for 15 dollars because they “only serve the large size.” Why don’t you just list it as 15 dollars then? The seafood wasn’t that fresh plus they overcooked the fish. Our favorite was the mango salad at the start.

Everytime is a different experience, this time we didn’t get our drinks, there has been some plastic chunks in the food and the food itself was only warm, but somehow we like it there and go there often

First time visitor. Surprisingly good food for such a modest setting. And great value! And the service was up to par.

The kamayan was good and reasonably priced. I hope they have more options for the dipping sauce like calamansi, tomatoes but otherwise food was good and the portions was big.

Pretty good as usual. They serve the food right infront of you. The only thing is that the food cools down fast sunce its winter and the door kept on opening frequently due to alot of people coming in and out. But overall satisfying
