Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina’s contemporary Mexican bistro located in the heart of the Theater District. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina’s creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Our festive, two-story space features a guacamole and ceviche bar, a wood-burning oven, and an exceptional tequila list, along with elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico.     Great spot for pre-theatre! Amazing guacamole and delicious tacos, loved the lechon with chicharron. Reasonable prices. Don’t miss the churros!

    Fabulous place! The decor is so cool, the drinks were fantastic and the food was amazing. We had the mild guacamole, the carne asada taco, the enchiladas and the black cod dish. Everything was delicious, the real stand out was the black cod. Highly recommend.

    Everyone loved their food. Portions were exactly as expected. Service was good. Place was buzzing with the energy you'd expect in midtown Manhatten.

    They still have the best chicken quesadilla I have ever had. They also have a great manager and great servers like Isabella and Michael, who have been there for years.

    We actually didn’t stay to order but the review form wouldn’t let me skip ratings for food, service, value, etc. It’s an admittedly cold day but it was far too chilly inside the restaurant to be comfortable. Diners at tables around us were still bundled in coats and hats! We asked to be seated upstairs but they couldn’t accommodate us so we left to dine at the Palm across the street which had a much cozier ambience.
