Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina’s contemporary Mexican bistro located in the heart of the Theater District. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina’s creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Our festive, two-story space features a guacamole and ceviche bar, a wood-burning oven, and an exceptional tequila list, along with elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico. We looking forward to seeing you soon.

Save your money, and go to an authentic taco stand for much less money. The fish tacos were basic, with a mayonnaise based sauce that didn't taste authentic. (Yes, I have lived in Mexico.) Very expensive.

I need to preface this by saying that I now live in Arizona. When last I ate in this restaurant I was a New Yorker and found the food interesting and exciting. Now, several years later and many visits to many Mexican restaurants both in Arizona and New Mexico I’m sorry to say that the food here is very pedestrian. Instead of interesting, the food is now boring and not innovative in the least. We won’t plan to go back.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food. It is quite a small small space, so there is maneuvering to be done to get into some of the seating. Small portions, typical NYC pricing, so expect that. Would definitely eat there again.

Great meal, unique taco offerings. I had the lobster tacos and loved them. Friend had the suckling pig and enjoyed as well. We also enjoyed the QUESO FUNDIDO as well and the margaritas were delicious. Would recommend and return. Staff was friendly, attentive and helpful because we had theater reservations.
