   Arrived at was greeted by the host & sat at the bar. The servers voice was low and I couldn’t hear her without leaning forward due to the loud music. The cook didn’t show any enthusiasm while preparing hand rolls nor did he interact with the guest (I’ve worked in the industry for many years as a cook, and open concept cooks are supposed to engage with guest). The cook also kept wiping his wrist in his brow, he did have gloves on his hands, but that wasn’t acceptable. The food wasn’t decent, but felt like it was missing a wow factor. The fish in the rolls was very cold, and the avocado was skimpy. Not once did the server ask if everything was ok, until we were paying our bill. I still tipped, but to be honest didn’t think a tip was deserved as we didn’t really receive service other than our food being prepared. As we were walking out, two employees were chatting by the curtain entrance, and we went the wrong way through the curtain because they were too distracted to point us in the right direction. The vibe isn’t the best for a date. I wouldn’t go again, instead go to “little nishi” or drive to Houston.

   We tried it for the first time last night. It's a brand new place with excellent decor, very attentive staff, and a very cute manager who makes sure the whole place runs well. Try the tuna that comes on the little grill. But for sure try this place out if you like sushi.

   Wonderful sushi spot tucked away downtown. Intimate, yet fun, the ambiance is perfect for small gathering or a date. Staff is knowledgeable and hospitable. The food was prepared quickly and presented tastefully. I enjoyed every dish I got.

   Overpriced for what you get. The hand rolls were mainly rice and some of the fish had clearly been frozen and was not fresh. I would not recommend.

   Moody, but lively environment. Simple foods, excellent execution. All the sashimi are a must. Staff was welcoming and made our anniversary a little extra special. You select a hand roll bar or the izakaya/trad dining experience.

   Staff was professional, knowledgeable. Food was excellent, fresh, even for handrolls. Ventilation could be better in such a small space. Smells like fish when you walk in, and grill smoke even with only one table grilling.

    Ambience and service was great but the hand rolls were only so so as personally I’m not a fan of the rice not being seasoned - the hand rolls are made with plain warm rice instead of sushi rice (with vinegar, sugar etc.). Just my personal preference. A cool place to check out otherwise!
