Toro, in Boston, helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef, Ken Oringer, serves delectable Spanish tapas dishes in its contemporary and charming restaurant. The tortilla Española with a kale, egg, potato and onion omelet and the Boquerón's white anchovies in vinegar and olive oil make excellent pintxos starters. Some of Toro's most vibrant and delectable tapas plates include the chicken empanada de pollo with charred tomato salsa, the salt cod fritter croquettes de Bacalao with tempura lemon rings and the asado de huesos roasted bone marrow with oxtail marmalade. Equally inventive cocktails, such as the morning star with spicy gin, dark rum, citrus and ginger beer and the tinto de verano with red wine mixed with lemon-lime soda.

Toro's weekend brunch plates include the salchicha y huevos jalapeno maple sausage, fried eggs and crispy potatoes and along with other plates, make it a prime brunch spot.

Toro has a nice vibe and the service was good. The food was just not very good. We like tapas and have tried several places. This place had a lot of good buzz so we were excited to check it out. I don’t think we will be back.

We were there for a birthday meal and we were seated at a table in the window which was a fantastic little spot. The service was incredible - friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The tapas food was some of the best we’ve tasted - seasoning perfect and portion sizes generous. The red sangria hit the spot too! The atmosphere was vibrant, buzzy and fun; we loved it! Definitely recommend trying Toro… we’ll be back on our next visit to Boston!

We enjoyed several tapas. We started with the meat and cheese board. In hindsight, we felt we should have chosen specific meats and cheeses from the menu instead. We followed with patatas bravos, classic and excellent. Cod couquetts, empanadas, carrots and corn were all very good. Finally, we had the duck legs and hamburgers. The latter was our least favorite. All in all our experience was very good.

The food and service were great. I had a reservation and was seated promptly. The octopus that I ordered was one of the best preparations that I have ever had and everything else was authentic. However, the noise level at "energetic" was an understatement. The noise level was so high that I had to sit with noise-cancelling earbuds in at the bar to try to drown out the music - it was like being at a rock concert but not in a good way. Even the staff were shouting at each other. Unfortunately, there was no seating outside to be further away from the speakers. I love music, but this was uncomfortable and took away from my experience. As much as I LOVED the food and service, I will have a hard time returning if the atmosphere is like that nightly unless I am lucky enough to grab a table outside.

The food was good; the octopus was very good. The noise level was horrendous. The tables are little more than an inch apart; speakers blare music; patrons are forced to scream at each other. It was a terrible, expensive ordeal. Avoid if you have any desire to converse with other people at your table.

We ordered our food at 545pm, and the server kept telling us 10 more minutes. By 730pm, we just left. It's not worth it. The food never arrived. The staff and manager did not know how to handle a complaint as the food never arrives, she just yelled and talked back instead of apologizing. We had met for dinner with my parents, who drove 2 hours to see us and had a horrible experience. I have run and opened multiple restaurants and would never let a customer leave without eating, and Definitely without a sincere apology. Instead, we got yelled at. I'm so disappointed to have waisted our time trying this place.

Decent food tho not as good as i remember it to be and smaller portions than in years past. Good date spot vibe wise but wish music was just a bit less loud.
