In Italy, street food is centered around the lifestyle of the piazza caffès and side alley wine bars, best discovered with friends and family. Here, on the Lower East Side, Trapizzino moves with the rhythms of the day - an espresso alongside warm bomboloni, a midday trapizzini enjoyed al fresco, refreshing spritz with shared vegetable small plates, or a larger feast with friends. The New York outpost of Stefano Callegari's Roman-rooted, internationally-acclaimed restaurant, Trapizzino brings a taste of the Eternal City to the corner of Orchard and Rivington Streets.

Traditional Italian/roman meals in a cosy atmosphere and very kind waiters, I definitely recommend it!

Super cute ambiance and the bread was exceptional in every single context. Pasta was also well made. Some of the other items left something to be desired in terms of execution - ratios were off on their signature bread pockets, meatballs / most round, fried things felt overcooked - little things that added up to make the experience good, not great. Staff was excellent and I'd definitely give this place another try in the hopes that it just wasn't the best night because we had a lovely time.

I'll be honest, it was a weird experience. A friend recommended Trapizzino and told us if we wanted to go on the weekend, we should book a reservation. I did just that for my mother's birthday, although I didn't mention it was her birthday (I didn't want special treatment, just to take her out for some nice food). When we arrived I told the waitress we had a reservation (we arrived 15 minutes early as requested by the website), she scoffed, rolled her eyes, and said, "oh *do* you?" I replied "yeah, it was for 5:30, we're a bit early but were told to show up 15 minutes before or we could lose the reservation?" She laughed and said "well if there's a table open, I guess you can sit there, I think you can figure it out." All the tables inside were taken. One outside seemed to be empty, so I asked, "can we sit at that table outside?" Again she laughed and said "if no one is there, what do you think?" It just felt unnecessarily hostile. So we sit down, and wait. And wait. 27 minutes later we're still waiting. A table across from us who had been sitting when we were in line also hadn't been seen. At that point I suggested to my mother maybe we should just go across the street to a little pizza place. Sure it wasn't fancy, but we got food for both of us cheaply, and quickly. Even with hanging out and talking, by the time we left, the other table that had been near us at Trapizzino was still waiting. Maybe this place is actually good, and we just caught them on a bad night. I get it, food service can suck, I'm in the same industry. I still wouldn't talk this way to people who hadn't done anything rude to me. I won't stop by again. Good luck!

The food was not good! Has eaten there many years ago and enjoyed it very much. Sorry to see it has changed for the worse.

Beware - this looks like a real restaurant online. It’s a pizza style joint. No air conditioning, hot, cramped tables. Drinks were good, food was meh. Service, good except for the rude server. She was actually funny in how she was trying to “put on NY” with nasty attitude. Everyone knows real New Yorkers are friendly and have the nicest servers turned actors in the evening anywhere in the world. But NYU nepobabe taking her turn in this joint just made a marginal place with a sandwich showcasing good bread unpleasant. Nothing special, and certainly worth the pass
