Trattoria da Claudio's Chef & owner Claudio Pontorno, has a very AUTHENTIC point of view when it comes to the food of his birthplace and childhood, being that of Italy more specifically Sicily. After having a successful food establishment just outside of Rome for 10 years, Halifax is lucky to have Chef Claudio & his mouth watering creations. Claudio's vision for the Trattoria, is to create an AUTHENTIC ITALIAN dining experience in the heart of Halifax, using as much fresh & locally sourced products as possible. Our recipes have been handcrafted by the chef from those he has learned from over the years working throughout Italy, but always with what he learned from the true heart of Italian cuisine, Mothers, Grandmothers and extended family of ones Italian home kitchen. To our valued customers we ask for your cooperation in not asking for changes or substitutions of items on our menu.
