Being fans of Tex Mex cuisine we decided to try Triny's Tex-Mex in Great Falls. So I don't know if we caught them on a bad night but there appeared to be only 1 waitress and the restaurant manager waiting tables and seating guests. Despite having a reservation and waiting to be seated we decided to press forward. We were seated and everything appeared to be fine. As we were waiting for our drinks to arrive the water guy came by and spilled the entire tray of water on our table. Not a great start. Luckily the table received the bulk of the shower and we were spared the worst. We were moved to another table, ordered, and everything appeared to be back on track. As we were waiting for our food a huge painting/piece of art work fell off the wall nearly hitting a passing customer a few feet from us. Just as this happened our waitress slipped on the earlier spilled water and literally went flying horizontal. How she caught herself on the adjoining table and landed on her feet was surreal and simply amazing. We were still processing all of this when the food arrived. The food was good. The portions big. Overall though the entire experience was disappointing. I understand they were undermanned which probably caused the majority of the anomalies we encountered. Yet I just never felt like this was a pleasant dining experience. So I guess the one legitimate issue I have would be the following: If you're gonna pay Great Fall prices then the service and atmosphere should be commensurate. I'm sorry to say it wasn't. Part of me wants to give Triny's another try as I don't think this was their best foot forward. In the end though, the food although good wasn't great and in my opinion not worth a repeat visit. Azteca in Sterling by Sweet Water is just as good food wise, a lot better service, and priced reasonably for Tex Mex. Really wanted to like this place and we're still looking for our "go to" Tex Mex place.
