Love the location and atmosphere; during daylight views of U of C, tall trees and Midway Plaisance are gorgeous. My root vegetable soup was puréed (with cheese, apparently); it was a strange salty flavor. (Too much cheese, maybe?). The salmon pate was also too salty but the salad and toast that came with it were good. The minted courgettes had a lovely flavor but were very oily, which detracted from their taste and texture. My guest liked her chicken pot pie soup and crème caramel. I ordered the ‘snow island’ (not it’s name, but close) which was huge and quite good if you like lemon meringue pie flavors. I’d go back because the service is amazing; the restaurant is lovely - but I’d try more traditionally English dishes next time.

We waited half an hour for a bottle of champagne that they never found, 20 mins to get salt. Food was mediocre and brought to the table at chaotic times. The prices are absurdly high. You can eat at a top restaurant up north for a lot less. The ambience is nice and friendly but they don't have their act together. I'd say go if you have no alternative.

Nice people but slow service. We felt ripped off that we paid $5.00 for awful black coffee when steps away, the hotel offered better coffee for free in their lobby.

Had a eyebrow raised as to how English food would be regarding flavor and potential dryness. Overall, it was a great dining experience!

It’s a treat for the southside for another restaurant that is different from the rest! TBT is in the campus of the UC. Easy to find with plenty parking spots. Jazzmine greeted us with her cheery and welcoming persona! The atmosphere is nice and warm, clean and simple. The food turned out very good! We started with a glass of their Maconnais Chardonnay, nice and crisp. Shared a crab gratin which we expected it to be served as an appetizer but came out with my main course of mussels and my husband’s fish and chips came out 10 minutes after. I suggested to our server that an extra bowl for the shells would be appropriate. The mussels were served lukewarm but the flavors were really good so I let it pass. I’ll come back for breakfast and maybe lunch.
