Ula is a beautiful European Mediterranean restaurant and tapas bar in San Francisco. Sip your martini or quality wine with a seafood-centric menu that has a focus on raw, roasted, and grilled fish and various roasted and grilled meats, pasta, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan selections. The restaurant is maximalist art deco with fixtures that depict jellyfish, oysters, and grand maritime vessels. Just a hop from Union Square, the delightfully vintage dining room begs to be paired with a nostalgic trolley ride and a stroll through the heart of the city. Cancellations within seven days of the reservation will result in a per person charge of $50. NEW YEAR'S EVE DINNER PARTY + AFTERPARTY. Ring in 2024 in San Francisco with festive fare, beautiful ambiance, and plenty of bubbly to go around. Our Ristorante is offering a four-course menu with champagne toast upon arrival for $125(++) and $50(++) children menu, with choices in each course and gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan selections. This is the only menu available. Live Jazz during dinner with Skyler Leftridge in the Vault Room (6:30 to 9:30 PM) and Ula-la Afterparty with DJ Maryzelle in the Jellyfish Bar (10 PM to 1 AM), who will keep your body vibing with Disco House through midnight. Official first date for me and my new guy. Christmas Eve Dinner was great. Service was awesome, live music was really good so was the food.

I haven’t been in this venue since it was Faralon and the new owners got lucky with the space & thankfully kept the decor. The food selection is decent but the food is overall moderate. Service was ok.. no attention that wine glasses were empty so we poured ourselves! Focaccia bread came with butter but says evo on the menu. I also didn’t like that 20% service charge is automatic added to the bill and the server did not mention that. Will we return probably not as I feel there are other options downtown that you get better value & come away satisfied.

My husband and I came in before seeing Hamilton, to celebrate our 20th anniversary for getting engaged, at this place, when it was Farallon. The only positives about this place were our nice waiter, and the decorem. Our tuna tartar came out with basic pita bread (nothing special), our garlic shrimp appetizer was super basic (didn't even taste like garlic - we could have done better at home), and our salmon entre came out rare...salmon was not cooked! We sent it back, paid our bill and left. They didn't even acknowledge our special occasion. Unfortunately, will never go back there, even though it's where my husband and I got engaged. So sad :(

Cons: although I listed one of our party as gluten and dairy free, it was not addressed at all. The food was pretty bland, except for the scallops, those were delicious but the other 4 dishes ordered were absolutely not worth their minimum $25 each. The service was attentive and okay initially but halfway through dinner, he barely spoke to / acknowledged us, did not say thank you, have a good night etc. I can only assume it’s because tip is included (35%) and so he didn’t try anymore. Pros: the music was good. The decor is interesting. I would not recommend Ula to anyone and wish I never went and spent $250 for that experience.

This was the old Farallon restaurant. So pleased that the decor has remained the same! Wonderful space. Great food - both tapas and a fuller menu. I had the unfortunate experience of having my wallet stolen just before going in to the restaurant. My sister was with me so no problem with paying. However, I was in and out of the restaurant as I sought police and worked to cancel credit cards. The service staff were wonderful and very understanding of the situation.
