Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman.

We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles.

Lunch features our signature smash burger, fresh ahi tuna poke bowl, tempura battered fish and chips, and a fresh local veggie wrap.

Dinner has a seafood forward menu featuring Ahi Sashimi, Grilled Tako, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli. From the land we offer a USDA Prime Beef Filet Mignon, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger, and Maui Nut Venison Loin.

    Fabulous food, ambience and a great waitress! Her recommendations were absolutely on the money! Food was as good as their premier restaurant Merriman’s! A true winner at the Westin Hoel in Ka’anapali!

    As usual the service was great. Lily was wonderful. Eating outdoors on a balmy night was fabulous. Diver scallops (2 plates) were wonderful. However, I was disappointed with an odd seasoning flavor on my fillet and the green beans. The seasoning overpowered any great steak flavor. Steak was also not as wonderful as the first time I had it, - it was not crispy on the outside. It was soft and juicy, but the first time had it I thought it was just a 1/2 grade below a Ruth Chris filet, this time it was slightly less than an Outback. Will definitely go back, but no more steaks for me.

    One of my favorite restaurants on island! The views, the staff, the menu…. All spectacular! From breakfast, lunch, and dinner…. All amazing!!! A must visit if on Maui!!! 🌺

    Lily was a great server! Food was delicious- had the mai tais and the the mahi mahi and ahi special The cucumber salad and broccoli salad were great as well.

    The fresh fish and ahi were spectacular. The green beans with ginger and garlic and Mac nuts were soooo good. Going back for breakfast tomorrow!

    We enjoyed Ulu Kitchen twice while staying on Kaanapali Beach. The food is delicious. They had a number of options to accommodate my gluten-free requirement as a Celiac. The service is top-notch. Special shout out to Makayla who was our server the 2nd time we visited. Her energy was amazing, she knew all about which menu items I had to steer clear of and checked in often. There was a rude couple on their speaker phone having a full-blown conversation for 20 minutes during our dinner the 2nd visit. Honestly, a staff member should have asked them to take their phone call elsewhere. Aside from that, we highly recommend!
