It was our 18th year anniversary. We got married here and have spent 7 of our anniversaries here. This was the worst anniversary dining experience we’ve had. We were sat inside with zero views. There were tables available outside and on the patio and you would think for such a special occasion (which I notified them about) you would get a special table, like we have in the past. We felt rushed out and the staff didn’t even acknowledge that it was a special occasion. In years past, we have always been acknowledged. I feel as if the management no longer cares about the special occasions or experiences, just turning over tables.

We have been to Vela many times throughout the years and it never disappoints. The setting, service and food are all top of the line. Our waiter, Diego, anticipated our wishes and is an asset to the restaurant. He even remembered us from last year!

We dined here twice in 2023 and they did not disappoint on this visit. It is pricey and La Pacifica guests are a captive dining audience, we took an Uber to Vela for their wonderful food and service. My only negative was that they tried to give us a crappy table for making a reservation since we were not staying at the resort. We are HGV La Pacifica owners who were staying at Cabo Azul during this time.
