We opened our first pizzeria in 2004 in the burgeoning Capitol Hill neighborhood. For months before we opened curious onlookers poked their heads in the former auto body shop, and outlandish rumors spread. One person saw a team of masons reportedly flown in from Naples to build a gargantuan wood-fired oven, someone heard that the bricks also came from Naples rich with Vesuvian ash, a reporter ran a story about a taxi driver leading our owner down a dark Neaopolitan street to meet a talented Pizzaiolo who was then whisked to an airport….

As it turns out almost all of the tall tales are true – on opening night people lined up for the authentic Neaopolitan pizza and since then our ovens have only gotten busier. Via Tribunali has been called "more authentic than the pizzerias of Naples," and even though that is a flattering exaggeration it is fair to say that our pizzerias have grown out of an almost unnatural passion for the food & wine of Southern Italy.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in seattle. The vibe, drinks, food, and service are phenomenal. Had another great birthday celebration.

My husband and I have been coming here for over a decade and its always good*. The service was exceptional, the food is always consistent and the prices are fairly reasonable for Seattle. Also you have to get their dessert calzone because it’s incredible! *My one small wish, was that they changed their menu to be a little more seasonal and exciting or had a specials menu! Thats why I say good. For example, I order burrata at every Italian restaurant I go to. Its an easy way to compare restaurants creativity, seasonality, portion sizes…etc Via Trib always has a small burrata, with lots of tomatoes, balsamic and basil and then slightly oiled or bread. Its basic, and a little boring compared to other restaurants in the area. Id love to see them change up their burrata seasonally… (citrus in the winter, peaches or strawberries in the summer, peas, leek, onions, pesto)…lots of creativity to be had! I say this about the burrata, but really I wish their whole menu reflected this idea more. I give this example to make a point - if you are someone who likes consistency, always wants the same things with a great atmosphere and value - via Trib is your place. BUT if you’re looking for a new experience every time you come here, I wouldn’t say you’ll find it here. And that’s something to consider I think. After 10+ years of coming here, I think it needs a little shake up to feel exciting again.

The pizza is extremely thin to the point of sogginess. Not the best. Ambiance & price is good though.

We had a lovely meal. The service was excellent. We were celebrating two birthdays and it was a great choice for the celebrations. We’ll definitely return!

The pizza was some of the best if not the best I’ve had in the states. Probably the closest I’ve had to pizza in Italy!

We were disappointed with our dinner. My rigatoni bolognese lacked the richness of this sauce. The pasta was not al dente but soft probably indicating it had been cooked earlier and run under hot water. The spaghetti with clams lacked garlic flavor and had too much flavorless liquid that diluted the meal. The salads were overpriced and served on a small plate making it difficult to enjoy. Finally, my rose tasted like it was open a few days earlier. This place could be great if the owner takes action on the feedback.
