Pairing Perfection: Two of Big Island's top chefs, Chad Yamamoto from Walua Social and Brian Hirata from Na‘au come together to bring Kona a collaborative menu reminiscent of their time spent visiting Tuscany and the Castello di Bossi winery property. Castello Di Bossi Winery is set within the rolling wooded hills of Chianti, similar to the rugged game areas of the Big Island. We were very pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem of a dining establishment. Everyone from greeter to server were supremely wonderful in every possible way. The food was delicious and presentation was fabulous. Chelsea earned a special mention. Will definitely return in the future 😃

Wailua Social was a big surprise! The evening began with a simply delicious "Original 1944 Mai Tai." The drink was fabulous. Our salad and main course was quit delicious as well. I can't wait to return.

This was our 1st visit and although we knew from reading the reviews to sit up stairs, we were told there was a private party upstairs and therefore not available. We were seated in the poorly decorated dining room downstairs where as we had already read in the reviews the temperature was too cool for comfort in Hawaiian dress. The service was prompt and pleasant, but the room felt like a cafeteria. Bright lighting, cheap tables, ours wobbled and at the prices charged a white linen tablecloth is expected in an Italian themed restaurant. Speaking of pricey, everything is alacart, so in the end this is a very pricey restaurant with very poor atmosphere. Bread is only Focaccia and $10. I actually was insulted when I got the check, because considering their pricing, they had the greed to add a 3% kitchen service fee to the bill. We started with the sticky ribs which were outstanding. The rest of the meal did not justify the price. When we left, the bar at the entrance was quite busy, a real social scene. It has the decor the rest of the place needs. Appetizers and cocktails in the bar would be my recommendation if you thinking of trying Walua Social.

We arrived and were immediately seated on the outdoor patio facing the ocean! Hostess and waiter were prompt and very courteous! The sunset was awesome! Food was excellent and and served promptly. The experience was highly appreciated!
