Niall, a proud champion for Northern Ireland’s tourism and hospitality sector, we’re thrilled to announce that Waterman opens under the same roof as our Waterman House Cookery School. Our plans for an exciting, creative hub in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter can help breathe new life into this vibrant part of the city, and we believe it’s the perfect spot for a new culinary venture.

“Customers will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and excellent classic European-style cuisine made with quality local produce. What people want more than ever is quality food and great service, and that’s what we will deliver at Waterman.

The kitchen team is headed up by former James Street apprentice and head chef at Hadskis Aaron McNeice has been appointed head chef at Waterman.

Great lunch, food was super , just a small issue was that the restaurant was little chilly and we were the only diners for about an hour that affected the ambience. Though the latter of course is not the fault of the restaurant. Would certainly return.

Delicious tapas and the Focaccia was amazing says the woman who does not like focaccia. It was our first night in Belfast and we made the right decision.

In today’s world of rising food prices, it has been quite a while since I had a meal out and thought that was a tremendous bit of cookery and value for money. The Waterman delivered on both accounts. Well done. The beef and Yorkshire pudding is a must.

We were there for a celebration and we were looking for more than pub food. Waterman’s fit the bill. Open and airy and not too noisy. Great service with knowledgeable staff. Had the gnocchi that were perfectly prepared and presented. Creative cocktail menu and helpful barman. Would go again.

A late lunch for two - shared the scallop starter - superb and followed by the seared seabass special served with lobster and mussels - divine! All washed down with a lovely crisp Hungarian white wine!

Waterman is a lovely looking restaurant and overall our experience was ok. We ordered cocktails and it took 20/25 minutes for them to be made. If the restaurant was full at the time we would have understood this wait, but it was not busy at that point, and it seemed a very long wait. We ordered Sunday roast which was good value, on a special offer, on the menu. The staters were all lovely, and there were lots of different choices. The main course roast dinner was nice. The vegetables and potatoes were just ok, and the gravy came in the smallest of jugs. It was so tiny we all asked for another jug of sauce. We noticed lots of other tables had all asked for additional sauce. The jugs were the size of tiny milk jugs which is a strange choice. The deserts were ok, with the baked Alaska being the highlight.

This place is a gem! The food was absolutely beautiful. The staff are extremely friendly, professional and warm welcoming. This is defiantly on places to revisit as I couldn’t fault anything from start to finish. Thank you for a wonderful time.
