   Superb service by the guy I presume was the manager and by the young waitress. Instant service, very friendly and polite and food delivered piping hot within 15 minutes. We’ve used WAX and The Phoenix as it was previously for 35 years, tonight’s service was probably the best ever. Top marks all round and thanks for such pleasant and professional service to you both, Cheers from Mick and Carolyn.

   So pleased they have brought back the wax roast wraps they are amazing, taste fantastic, perhaps the potatoes could be a bit more crispy on the outside, that would be my only complaint…. The chicken and beef was cooked to perfection. The gravy was delicious. And the sticky toffee pudding was heaven . Would definitely recommend…. And we will be back soon

   Wax is always great, and last night was no different. Great choice on menu, food is tasty and hot. Desserts were fab as well. The team were having Internet issues which was affecting their EPOS systems.... Just go an buy STARLINK - you will not regret it, and give additional service to your clients :-) Don't go waiting for anything like WildaNET just not worth the drama! hahahaha. Seriously - great beach experience here, and the sunsets are to die for. Thanks Team :-)

   We were really looking forward to eat at The Wax last night . I ordered a Wagyu beef burger with mushrooms, bacon, Emmenthal cheese and blue cheese sauce. My wife ordered fish and chips. Also two mocktails All came to £40 Drinks were ok. Didn't have to wait long for the burger to land on our table. It arrived so fast it was actually cold. The cheese didn't even have time to melt inside the burger. The Wagyu burger WASN'T a Wagyu burger . It tasted like burnt cardboard. Totally tasteless. There wasn't any blue cheese sauce or whatever it was supposed to be. My fries had a megaton of salt. Totally impossible to eat. My partner's fish and chips was ok. Just dry. The waitress asked me if everything was ok which at that point I was just honest and politely told her what I thought of the food. She was understanding, she gave us a free dessert which it also was ... Ok. I'm not annoyed with front house staff. I'm annoyed at the chef who thought, sending that food out was worth the £40 we paid . Also lieing about it on the menu. I felt like walking in the kitchen and slap him in the face with that burger. He/she clearly don't gives monkey about cooking. Should be sacked. Flipping burgers is not rocket science FFS. Could have done better than that. Probably used to serve a drunken crowd who lost the sense of taste. Whoever you are in that kitchen , if you are not happy there , go somewhere else so that someone who cares about food can take over .

   Lovely bar and restaurant! Staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s right next to the beech! Enjoyed entertainment in the evening - a 20 piece sea shanty band! Great time all round 😍

   Great restaurant and bar. We live in Manchester and go to Watergate Bay 3 times a year for the last 15 years. It’s our “go-to” restaurant for fantastic views of the sea, brilliant service and quality food. On the nights we don’t want to go out we also use their take-out service. I highly recommend trying Wax.

   Great location, the staff are superb - staff are always amazing - but two gripes … Never any “Offshore” on tap (have you considered Korev?) They removed “fried pickles” off the menu … I mean really !?

    We were sat in the covered outside area which had broken zips on the windbreak walls which had a poor attempt at being fixed, this meant we had a very blustery experience. Unfortunately it spoilt our dinner as was very cold. When asked how our meal was when we paid I explained it wasn’t very comfortable because of the windy table and was greeted with the reply “well I’m hot” by the waitress so that was the end of that conversation! We have eaten at Wax many times so this was very disappointing. A little maintenance would go a long way.
